Anya first met the strange woman when shopping for a new dress. Not only did she have good taste in clothing, but she seemed to have the same sensibilities about people, meaning, she saw the inherent stupidity in the lazy store clerks.

"Who do I have to blow to get some service around here?" The lady had said, arms crossed and hair flying everywhere. "I have money, you want money. What's the problem?"

A woman after her own heart. But Anya had Xander and Xander gave her orgasms and a minimum amount of trouble. Sure, there were times when he talked to her like a child, but when you find a guy that enjoyed the sex as much as her ex-demon body seemed to, you can overlook a few faults.

It was the troll that did them in. One look at the ex-boyfriend and it was good-bye, Xander and hello, unwanted celibacy. After a week of uncomfortable silence, excessive throat clearing and eye glass polishing, the job was gone too. So now, Anya was broke, jobless and alone. If she could afford the summoning spell ingredients, she would have called in one of her former demon friends, but as it stood, she could barely afford her apartment. Besides, all the best vengeance demons wouldn't have taken her call and Anya didn't want a half-assed job.

She met the strange woman again when she visited the dress shop, trying to sell back some of her clothes. The curly-haired lady was twirling in the mirror, swishing the dress back and forth.

"That looks very nice on you." Anya stopped arguing with the clerk and stepped over to the mirror. "It's red really works with your complexion."

The girl cocked her head to the side and viewed Anya with what looked like amusement. "Honey, everything looks good on me. Are you trying to sell me something? Because, I'm not buying today, so you can just go away, sweet pea."

"I'm not selling anything. In fact, I recently lost my job at the magic shop and am therefore no longer part of the workforce. I don't sell anything anymore." The lady laughed and Anya blushed. "I just think you're pretty."

"Sweetie, I know I'm pretty. I'm a goddess. This world isn't good enough for me." She turned to face Anya, looking her up and down. Anya stared back at her own face in the mirror, avoiding the woman's gaze. "But you're not so bad yourself. Hi. I'm Glory."

It was a split second decision, but it sealed her fate for the next lifetime.

"Hi, I'm Anyanka."
