No Sugar
Lex never found Lana to be that attractive, at least not at first. Perhaps it was because he had known her since she was a child. He had a natural aversion to people he had known all his life, case in point his father.
But like many things in this life, Lana grew on Lex, not like fungus as some would be so likely to say, but a vine of roses.
Lana was a clean-cut kind of girl; good grades and great prospects for the future. Head, formerly, cheerleader and budding businesswoman. She was the kind of girl Lex never imagined chasing after, normally they chased after him. But Lana wasn't like all them, Lana wasn't one to chase.
She was the prize, the unicorn they chased but could never capture. Whitney and Clark and every hormonally charged guy in Smallville had Lana dreams, Lex was certain about that. It had to be that way, otherwise he knew he was in trouble. Sometimes he would sit around for hours in his den or office and simply be mesmerized by recalling her, forming her from moments at Talon.
He imagined her bringing him coffee with cream, no sugar. She would make some casual comment about the weather and the business and she would smile her smile. He would smile back, he always did, just to cover his gasp of air. She would bend forward a little and put his cup to his table and he could not stop himself to look, even if swore that he would not look. Again she would just smile at him when she's finished the chore, like nothing happened, she wouldn't blush because blushing was human frailty. Lana Lang was beyond human frailty, no she would just smile and leave him with his coffee, with cream, no sugar.
And he would sit there for a long time, like he always did, his coffee would get cold and Lana would bring him another one. Then they're dance would begin once again, smile to smile, smile to peek, smile to blush, with cream, no sugar.
