The Lady's Favor
"You had better be right, laddie."
The waves splashed up the sides of their coracle and rocked the little ship like a child playing with a toy. Over the bow, Gimli saw the westering sun trail its jewel-like path.
"Again, Gimli, the Lady is mighty. She will obtain this grace for you."
"But who ever heard of a sailing dwarf?"
Gimli's companion only smiled down at him. "Do you remember," the elf asked, "what you said to me after leaving Lorien?"
"Aye, I have looked my last upon that which was fairest."
This time, it was Gimli's turn to smile.
