Wedding Presents (The Lament For A Love Found Too Late Remix)
O-Ren Ishii is holding back, though she is perfectly aware that the woman before, 'The Bride' as she is now known, is quite capable of slicing her in half, as she had undoubtedly done to her men. O-Ren does not feel anything for the men and women who have lost lives and limbs for her. Not for Johnny Mo or Go Go Yubari, not even for Sofi Fatale.
Instead, she feels for 'The Bride'.
In another life she had been the Black Mamba, just as O-Ren had been Cottonmouth. But those days were long gone, and while Cottonmouth is O-Ren Ishii, Black Mamba is not 'The Bride'. For O-Ren, Black Mamba had died in that church in El Paso years ago.
This woman that stands before her in this garden of earthly death, this woman bleeding, wounded and scorned, this woman is not the woman she might have loved. "I was wrong to ridicule you earlier," O-Ren says, betraying the calmness of her form. "And for that I apologize." This is a woman she can love.
She knows that she has little time left, by the end of this night, the snow will be stained with her defeat. O-Ren Ishii will honor 'The Bride' and her love for her, she takes her stance.
"Are you ready?"
She stops holding back.
"Come on."
