Coveted
Sometimes Kennedy coveted the other girls and their normal way of life. They didn't carry stakes tucked away carefully in their shoes and coats. They didn't worry about one day having to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.
They weren't alone like she was. They were never alone.
Kennedy may have had her watcher, but he didn't love her. He didn't protect her. He was simply there to make sure she didn't fuck up and get killed before her time had come.
That's another thing she coveted. The other girls didn't have a "time" that would come. No weight of the world, no vampires, no demons, no heroes.
