One Night Can Change Your Life
by Nicole

Cordelia Chase entered Club Ecstasy with her usual group. Tonight was the re-opening of the hottest club in New York. The owner Buffy Summers wanted a complete remodel of the scene and now it was open. Anyone who was everyone was in attendance, celebrities came by the droves. You couldn't go to the bathroom without running into a celebrity. The bouncer let them in; it was totally different than before, it was better. They found a table near the dance floor and took a seat.

"This place is better than what I remember." Faith said to Cordelia

"Oh yeah, and the place is screaming with hotties of both female and male persuasion." She grinned back at her counterpart.

"Oh please you are just wanting to find someone so you can get laid." Harmony stated the obvious.

"Thank you Ms. States the Obvious." She noted with sarcasm.

Cordelia got up from the table.

"I'm going to the bar to get a drink, what so you want?"

Faith gave her a grin, "You know what I like."

"God Faith do you have to make everything sound so sexual?" Complained Harmony.

"I will just have a Sex on the Beach."

Cordelia walked off with everyone's order. She made her way to the bar when she saw someone out the corner of her eye. She was petite and blonde, and working behind the bar.

Buffy was helping her best friend Willow behind the bar. Xander had an emergency and couldn't come in so she decided to help. Not that she minded, she liked being hands on and not the person who hides behind the name.

"I didn't expect tonight to be so busy?" Buffy said in Willow's ear.

Willow gave her a smile, "You didn't did you. Come on Buffy your club is the hottest in N.Y."

"I know but good grief, I didn't expect it to be this busy."

She turned to take the next persons order that was until she saw a very attractive Brunette walk towards the bar. It's been a while since she's been on the dating scene since her relationship with Spike didn't work out. Come to find out he was gay and he had to pose straight to receive an inheritance. Now he and Angel are living a nice life in Europe. That wasn't a thing for her, now she could flirt and sleep with whomever she liked. She was brought out of her reverie when said Brunette approached the bar. Willow was too busy assisting other customers so it was up to her.

"Hi I would like a Sex on the Beach, an Apple Martini, and a Screaming Orgasm please." She offered Buffy a smile.

"Sure anything for the lady." Buffy turned her back and prepared her drinks.

While she was doing that Cordelia was using that as an advantage to check her out. She was taking in her attire. She had on a black leather mini, and a white halter top, a picture of sexiness. She stopped staring when Buffy turned around.

"Here are your drinks." Buffy handed them to her with a smile.

"Thanks, very much. How much do I owe you?" Cordelia asked not wanting it to end.

"That would be $14.00." She gave her a small smile.

She reached into her bra and pulled out a twenty, and handed it to Buffy. Who in turn handed it to Willow. They were transfixed on each other; it was like everything else faded away.

"Buffy here is her change." Willow said in annoyance.

Buffy looked away from Cordelia and blushed. "Sorry." She took the money and handed it back to her.

"Here you go enjoy your night." She gave her a smile.

"Yeah you too."

Cordelia left the bar with the drinks with one thing on her mind.

'I think I'm in love.'

Buffy watched as Cordelia left, wondering who that woman was.

'I think I'm in love.' She thought as she saw Cordelia disappear into the crowd.

"Her name is Cordelia Chase."

Willow stated with a small smile. She handed Buffy a napkin, on it there was a name and a number.

'Cordelia Chase 555-9785 Call me.'

Buffy put the napkin in her pocket. It has turned out to be a wonderful night.

Buffy had been behind the bar for about four hours when Anya came in to help. She used that time to go up to VIP area and observe the clientele or better yet, see if she could find that very attractive Brunette. She found her sitting at a table with another Brunette girl, and some blonde who looked like she got her color from a bottle. They were just sitting there talking and watch the people dance bye. It reminded her of when she, Willow, and Xander would get together and hang out at the Bronze. They would shoot pool, and just have fun. That is why she had hired them to work in the club so they would always be around. They actually made high school, and college pretty bearable, she was popular, but not that popular.

Cordelia was looking around the club, especially the bar to see if she could find a certain little blonde. Faith took notice at her search and decided to have a little fun.

"So Queen C whatcha lookin' for or better yet who are you lookin for?"

She tried to be nonchalant, "No one, I'm just trying to find someone to dance with." It wasn't a total lie, but it was workable.

"You never had that problem before, just go get someone and move that body." This came from Harmony.

A cute guy came to the table and approached Faith.

"Would you care to dance?" Tall, dark and handsome asked.

"Let's do it. Harmony could you go to the bar and get me another Sex on the Beach?"

Harmony was about to get up, until Cordelia said she would do it. She decided that she needed another Apple Martini. She took slow and purposeful strides up to the bar, but was disappointed when the blonde she wanted to see wasn't there. Willow recognizing her decided to take her order while Anya was flirting with the guys at the counter.

"Hey what can I get you?" She asked.

"I would like another Apple Martini, Sex on The Beach, and A Screaming Orgasm please."

She kept looking trying to find the blonde that was behind the bar. She wasn't trying to be obvious, but she wanted to at least talk to her before she left. Willow noticed the distress on her face and decided to help her out just a little. She could see the attraction building between Buffy and Cordelia. She should have been pissed, because Buffy would never give her the time of day. Eventually she got over it when she met Tara and they had been happy ever since. She handed Cordelia her drinks, which she took with a nod.

"How much do I owe you again?"

Willow looked up to the balcony and saw Buffy standing there, she nodded her head.

"This is on the house compliments of the owner." She gave her a wink.

This puzzled Cordelia a little, because she hasn't seen the owner at all tonight. It was kind of creepy, but in a good way.

"Oh and if you are looking for the bartender who assisted you earlier she is upstairs." She gave her a wink and left.

Cordelia took the drinks to the table and sat back down next to Harmony.

"Look at Faith; she looks like such a hoe." Harmony said snidely.

Cordelia just rolled her eyes, "Oh please you are just jealous because no one had asked you to dance yet."

She kept glancing up to the balcony discreetly; she didn't want her friends all up in her business. She loved them, but they just get on her nerves sometimes.

Buffy was looking down on everything, she wanted to make sure that she knew what was going on. The music changed to a slower much more sultry beat, and she saw the blonde girl at Cordelia's table get up and dance which left her all alone. She wanted to approach her, but didn't want to seem too desperate. She made her way down the steps when she saw her get up from the table. Buffy was a little disappointed and decided to go back to where she was until she heard someone behind her.

Cordelia and Harmony was making idol chat when a guy approached the table and asked Harmony to dance. She was kind of hoping that the blonde would come and talk to her; she decided not to let this opportunity slip away. So taking the advice of the bartender behind the bar she was going up to the balcony. If it was one thing Cordelia Chase always gets the girl. She made her way to the balcony a little nervous this was the first time; she had to be the one to pursue another.

"Pathetic much." She chastised herself and made her way to the steps.

Buffy turned around and came face to face with Cordelia Chase, the one she had been spying on all night. She was at a loss for words; Cordelia saw this and decided to use this to her advantage.

"I have been looking for you all night."

Finally finding her voice she replied, "Well, I have been up here the whole entire time. I like to observe things."

She led Cordy to one of the tables reserved for the VIP's.

"Have a seat." She sat down and Cordelia sat down in the one closest to Buffy.

"I was wondering when you were going to ask me to dance or talk to me?"

'Oh god forceful much!' She groaned internally.

"I would've but every time I tried you were surrounded by your friends."

"Oh those losers, they would've ditched me for the next person with a penis walks by." She said sarcastically.

Buffy raised her eyebrow at this. She never pegged her to be a snob.

"Well, like I said you were always surrounded by someone." She gave a shy smile.

Not knowing what to say they sat there in an uncomfortable silence. Not liking this one bit Cordelia decided to break the ice.

"So you know my name. Would you mind telling me yours?"

Buffy blushed a little, "I'm sorry I thought you knew. I'm Buffy Summers."

Cordelia couldn't believe her luck she was sitting here talking to the person behind club Ecstasy.

Buffy seeing the look on her face took this as a bad sign.

"Is there something wrong Cordelia?" She asked in concern.

She snapped out of her shocked stupor and blushed. "Oh no there is nothing wrong. I feel like I should bow. You are like the it woman of NY." She went on to say. Buffy gave her a smile.

"Most people see my success as an intimidation, or others are just with me for the name recognition. It's kind of hard to figure out who is genuine and who is not." She said honestly. Cordelia could sympathize with her; she was an heiress to the Chase Family fortune.

"Well, it is pretty understandable; I have that same problem too. I am an heiress; sometimes it's hard to keep a low profile." She admitted a little sheepish.

"Oh I recognized the name, but I've never seen you before. So do you work, or you don't have to?" She asked hoping not coming off as snarky or anything.

"Actually I do have a job; I am fashion editor for Vogue." She said proudly.

"That is actually kinda cool. So have you been here before? I mean before the remodel?"

"Oh yeah, I have and by the way I love what you have done with the place. Not that it wasn't nice before." She grimaced. 'Oh great insult her club why don't you?' She thought.

Buffy decided to save her from herself.

"I completely understand what you were saying. Honestly." She was looking over the railing of the balcony to the dance floor.

"I think your friends have finished their dance."

Cordelia looked down at the floor, surprised at the view from up this high. "Oh well they won't be there for long. Once they see some random guy they will be gone again." She looked at Buffy who was in turn staring at her intently.

"Come on, I want to introduce you to them." She grabbed Buffy's arm before she could protest, and led her down the stairs to the main floor. They walked passed the bar and Anya gave her a look of approval and saw Willow whisper something in her ear. She was being pulled so fast she didn't see the exchange of money between them. They finally slowed down when they approached the table.

"Hey guys enjoy your dance?" Cordelia said with a huge grin on her face. Her friends knew something was up because she was grinning like the cat ate the canary.

"Yeah, we did. Me and tall, dark, and handsome are going to meet up later." Smiled Faith.

"So where have you been? We haven't seen you for half the night." Harmony added her two cents in.

"Well, I met someone tonight and I brought her here to meet you." She stepped out of the way to show Buffy standing there with a smile.

"Oh my god E is that you?" Faith said in enthusiasm and gave her a big hug.

Buffy returned it just as equally. Harmony and Cordelia stood there in shock as they watched this take place. One thinking how the hell do they know each other. And the other why she couldn't know any famous people.

"You two know each other?" This coming from Cordelia. Buffy and Faith broke their hug and looked at the two girls sheepishly.

"Know each other, we practically grew up with each other, she was like my sister. When she moved we lost contact." Buffy filled them in.

"So how come the name didn't sound familiar to you?" Harmony wanted to know.

Faith decided to fill them in this time. "Well, I always knew her as Elizabeth Summers-O'Malley. Since she evidently changed her name it didn't ring a bell until now." She finished.

"Oh I am Harmony Kendall by the way." She stuck out her hand and she shook it.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Harmony. Faith it's good seeing you again. So how have you been?" She sat down on an empty chair close to Cordelia.

"I have been great, Mom actually asked about you a while back, she seen your Aunt Darlene in the market the other day."

"Oh yeah, how is your mom?" She asked in genuine concern.

"She is doing great. I know she would love to see how her little Elizabeth grew up." She smirked. Cordelia was confused if her name is Elizabeth then why did she tell her her name was Buffy.

"So why did you decide to go with Buffy?" Harmony asked. Cordelia could kiss her for asking that question.

"Well if you must know my grandma gave me that name, and it stuck so I use it. Elizabeth just sounds to British." She gave a small smile. Cordelia didn't care, Buffy Elizabeth she was still gorgeous.

Buffy looked over at the bar and saw Willow signaling to her. She nodded her head and got up.

"I really hate to do this, but unfortunately they need my help behind the bar. Faith it was great talking to you, we should get together sometime. Harmony nice meeting you." She gave them a slight wave. She turned to Cordelia.

"I will talk to you later." She gave her a smile, and turned and walked away. Cordelia kept watching until she disappeared into the crowd.

"Somebody is smitten." Faith teased, and she threw a napkin back at her.

"I do not have it bad; I just want to be her friend that's all." She hoped that sounded believable, because she was lying to herself.

Meanwhile behind the bar Buffy was helping Willow and Anya people were bombarding the bar. She knew immediately she had to hire more people.

"So I saw you and Miss. Chase getting all comfy over there." Teased Willow.

"Oh please we are just friends, besides she wanted to introduce me to her friends." She gave her a mischievous smile.

"You can have somebody to give you plenty of orgasms now, since Spike wasn't doing the job. Who was the other brunette you were hugging?" Anya said bluntly.

Sometimes Buffy wondered why she even associated with such a blunt person. Then again she is Xander's girlfriend it was inevitable.

"If you must know, I only want to be her friend and see where it goes from there. And as far as the other brunette she was my best friend growing up." She looked at Willow and gave her a reassuring smile.

She turned around and helped with the customers. Willow grinning knowingly, she knew her friend was attracted to the leggy brunette. She just hoped she could get it right this time.

Buffy seeing the look on her face took this as a bad sign.

Tonight was an exciting night for Buffy and company. Not only did they do their regular intake of business but it was a lot better than before. Buffy was sitting in her office taking care of the night's business. She couldn't take her mind off of the brunette that suddenly entranced her. She was kind of hoping that she would be able to see her before she left. All she caught was a glimpse of her and her friends. What really shocked her beyond reason was seeing Faith. She hadn't seen her in eight years; they practically grew up together even though she was a couple of years older than her. She wondered how long Cordelia and her had been friends. She was putting in the last bit of business when there was a knock at her door.

"Come in." She yelled, and saw that it was Willow.

"We are finished with cleanup for the night. Anya is already gone her beloved Xander picked her up." She rolled her eyes at this.

"So why didn't you leave with them?" She wanted to know.

Willow sat down in one of the chairs.

"Well, I didn't want you to have to walk out by yourself, besides I wanted to see if you wanted to go for breakfast." She gave her a smile. In all actuality she was a little jealous because Buffy had seen her long time best friend. She didn't want anyone to really take her place.

"That would be good; we haven't been able to hang lately." She finished keying in the figures into the computer. When she was done she shut everything down and got up.

"So where would you like to go?" She asked as she followed her best friend out of the door.

"Let's go to IHOP that way you can tell me all about your night with Queen C, and your relationship with Faith. You two seem a little too friendly for words."

They walked out the club and to each of their individual cars. They sped all the way to IHOP. They got their usual table which was no problem, because everyone knew who she was. She was kind of like the modern day Steve Rubel, the one who had the famous Studio 54. The waitress brought them their menus and took their orders. Willow decided to take this time to grill her friend.

"So did you finally talk to her?" Her eyes full of mischief.

"If you had eyes, you could see. I am attracted to her, this never really happened before." She wasn't exactly telling the truth she had at one time, when it came to Faith.

"Well you too seem awfully cozy with the looks, and the slight but subtle touches."

"Yeah, well she is different from all of the others." She looked at her best friend in seriousness.

"I understand that Buffy, but this is the Cordelia Chase. The heartbreaker, the manipulator, and all around bitch."

"I understand that everyone has their things to say, but I don't care. I want to get to know her the real her. Then I will be able to judge for myself."

The waitress brought out their food and they began to eat. Willow was kind of curious about her relationship with Faith so she decided to ask.

"How far back do you and Faith go?"

This caused Buffy to choke; she wasn't expecting her to start asking questions about Faith so soon.

"Well, Faith was my next door neighbor, we met when I was four and she was six. We connected instantly. We would have sleepovers, and raise hell whenever we could." She had a smile on her face as she was remembering.

"She was my first." Off of Willows look she continued.

"She was the one to help me experiment with girls. I knew I wasn't completely straight because I was having all of these lusty feelings for her."

Willow looked at her in amazement, but also in jealousy. She could go out with her best friend, but couldn't give her the time of day.

"So she helped me explore my feelings, I was fifteen and she was seventeen. It was the best experience in my life. She awoken things in me that no guy ever could." Then her face went sad.

"When my parents caught us one day that was when they decided to send me away. I didn't want to go. Her mom knew how much we loved and cared for each other, but my parents being ever conservative was having none of that. So that was when I came to your school and met you guys."

"So tonight was the first time you seen each other?" She asked in amazement.

"Yeah, and I am actually glad she is back, now I have more female friends" Which was true all her friends were truly male except for Willow, Xander, and Anya. They continued eating dinner making idol chit chat about this and that. Until it was getting late, and they decided to call it a night.

Buffy went home that night and fell right into bed. She didn't bother taking off her clothes. Her mind wandered to Cordelia and how hot she was. She wasn't going to just jump into something she was going to take her time. She finally fell asleep her thoughts on a sexy brunette.

Cordelia and Faith had arrived home exhausted after a night of clubbing. She never thought that she would have as much fun as she did. Ever since her breakup with Kate she had been in a funk. But she could care less about that; she wanted to know more about that hot little blonde she just couldn't get off of her mind. Faith came out of the kitchen with a Coke in her hand and sat down next to her.

"I know, you want to know how I know Buffy." Cordelia just gave her a smug smile. She hated it when she could read what was on her mind.

"If you don't mind telling me, I don't want to know anything deeply personal. I just want to know how your relationship was. Because you two seemed quite cozy."

"I met Buffy when she was four. Her family had just moved next door to me, upon my mother's insistence I went to introduce myself and our friendship just formed. I was six at the time. Anyways we were little terrors or better yet hell raisers, our parents didn't know what to do with us. We grew up and I notice Buffy was turning out to be a very attractive female; she had curves in all the right places. I started developing these feelings for her, and I could tell that she was also. I was her first; I introduced her into female loving. Yes she had a boyfriend, but I knew she wasn't as straight as a board. So we had an encounter and it was great. When her boyfriend Parker wasn't doing the job, I gave her what she was missing. She was the best that I ever had, one day her parents came home and caught us. They sent her away and I haven't seen her since before today."

Cordelia just sat there in complete amazement. She never knew that they would have a relationship like that. But she was also a little upset, the way Faith was talking made it seem like she still cared about Buffy. She couldn't have that; Buffy was unlike any other woman in the world. She wasn't about to let anyone stand in her way.

"Do you still care for her?" She asked in curiosity.

"I do on some level, but you are my girl I would never do anything like that. I will be Buffy's friend nothing more. Besides I saw how she was getting to you. But I want to give you a word of advice. Don't play with her feelings, and don't try to rush things. She likes to be pursued. She is real sensitive; when she falls in love she falls hard."

She got up and gave her a smile before heading to her room. But she gave her one more parting shot.

"Once you fall for Buffy you stay fallen. She is someone you won't ever forget." Faith went into her room and closed the door leaving Cordelia to absorb what she was just told. She finally got off of the couch and went to bed. Her thoughts surrounded by a petite little blonde.

Upon waking up the next morning Buffy had a smile on her face. She still couldn't get over the fact that she met Cordelia. She is all that Buffy could look for in a companion; hopefully she feels the same way. Buffy went about her morning routine of getting up and jogging. She dawned on a pair of jogging shorts and her running shoes and headed out the door. There was nothing like a refreshing jog to start out the morning, she also wanted to clear her head of all thoughts Cordelia. To Buffy it would never happen, not in her lifetime anyway. She jogged around Central Park along the paths just enjoying the brisk morning air. Little did she know that someone else was running in the park too.

Cordelia had woke up early; earlier than usual it was Saturday she usually sleeps in. Something about today just made her want to get up and jog, maybe pick up some coffee for her and Faith at Starbucks. People would probably flip if they knew Cordelia Chase was a runner. She put on her jogging outfit and her shoes and headed out the door careful not to wake up Faith. She went for a jog in Central Park, she was in her own little world when she noticed a blonde running directly in front of her. At first she thought it was Buffy, but then again it could be someone else. So she jogged up closer to get a better look indeed it was Buffy. This was a coincidence; she thought she wouldn't probably see her again. Thing is she didn't know how to approach her all her confidence was shot.

Buffy was aware that someone was running beside her, she turned and saw that it was Cordelia. Her palms got sweaty and her throat began to get dry. "Cordelia hey!" She kept up a pace with her. This startled her a little bit, "Oh hey Buffy! I didn't know you ran in the morning." She asked with mild curiosity. "Yeah, I have to keep in shape; you can't let your figure go to hell." They both let out a little giggle. They finally slowed down to a walking pace wanting to enjoy each others company.

"So what are you doing after your jog?" Buffy asked wanting to break the ice. "Oh I am going to go get some coffee for Faith and myself. How about you?" She smiled, "Nothing really, I am going to go get my morning coffee and go home and relax. Nothing spectacular." They continued to walk in silence.

Not wanting to seem to bold or persistent Cordelia decided to ask her for lunch. "Would like to go to lunch with me this afternoon? If you're not busy that is." She couldn't believe she was acting like a school girl. "Sure I would love to." Buffy agreed almost instantly. Hoping not to sound too desperate. "Do you want me to pick you want to meet up or what?" Buffy thought about this for a minute.

"Um I could swing by yours, besides I would like to see Faith again." She gave Cordelia a smile. Which she returned, but she was a little apprehensive about Buffy wanting to see Faith. Especially after Faith told her that little bit of information last night.

"Sure that would be good." Deciding to cut their jog short, they walked to go get coffee. Cordelia was a little more curious about her past with Faith. She wondered if she still longed for her the way Faith did for her.

"So you and Faith go back huh?"

"Yeah, I met her when I was four, and she was six. We were neighbors, but then became like sisters. She never treated me like a little kid; she treated me like an equal. We were both little terrors, our parents were like the best of friends. We had sleepovers and what not. Just the usual girly stuff, but we were kind of tom boys also." She let out a small smile at that thought.

"Has she told you any thing about our history together?" She needed to know, before she got into something with her.

"Yes, she told me a little. Is it true that she was your first female encounter?" She couldn't help but blush.

"Yeah, she was. I have to say she was a great teacher, but all of that came to an end when my parents found out about us. They sent me away to my grandmother's house in New York. So that is how I ended up here. I haven't seen nor spoke with her until last night; I was just surprised to see her that's all."

They arrived in front of Starbucks and went in. They each ordered a frappaccino with extra foam except Buffy got sprinkles. They each paid for their coffees and began to walk out.

"So how long have you and Faith been friends?" Buffy asked curiously

"I met her in college. I thought we could have something, but I was dating Kate and she was dating some guy named Angel O'Conner or something like that. We decided to be friends."

Buffy almost dropped her coffee. "Did you say Angel O'Conner?"

Cordelia nodded her head, "Yeah. Why do you know him?"

"Do I know him, he is actually dating my ex William. He is better known as Spike."

"Oh my god! I did not know he went that way." She exclaimed.

"Yep, that is so true." She giggled.

They were walking towards Buffy's apartment. There was no rush they were content to be in enjoy each others company. They arrived at her apartment more like a townhouse, Cordelia stood in awe. It looked like something out of one of those New Yorker magazines. It told her one thing, that Buffy had taste.

"This is me. Make yourself at home. I hate to sound prudish, but what about Faith's coffee?"

She let out a sheepish grin.

"I will get her another on my way home." Buffy took a seat next to her.

"Is there anything else you would like to know?" Buffy questioned.

"No, not really. Is there anything you want to know about me?"

Buffy wracked her brain a little bit, trying to come up with something to ask.

"How long have you been in New York?" Hoping that didn't sound too stupid.

"For about six years now. I originally come from California a little town called Sunnydale."

Buffy let out a sudden gasp while drinking her coffee. This startled her a little.

"Did you say Sunnydale? My parents live there now, they got tired of LA my mom owns a gallery there."

"How cool is that?" They both grinned.

Cordelia looked at her watch and saw that it was almost nine. She needed to get home and moisturize and everything before her lunch date with Buffy.

"I hate to run, but I need to get home and get ready for our lunch date this afternoon."

"Oh yeah, I will swing by yours at about twelve. We could make a day out of it if you would like." She gave her a small smile.

She thought about what Faith told her 'You have to be the persuer'. "Yeah, I would love that. Is there any particular place we are going?"

"Just dress casually, we are not going to some fancy restaurant or anything."

She walked Cordelia to the door and they both reached for it and their hands touched. It felt like they belonged. They both opened up the door and Cordelia stepped into the hallway. In a bold move Cordelia kissed Buffy on the cheek. This caught Buffy by surprise.

"Until this afternoon princess." She turned and walked away. Buffy closed the door behind her and leaned up against it.

"I think I'm in love" She said to no one in particular.

Cordelia walked down the street in a bright mood. She was not going to rush Buffy into anything. This was going to be a slow seduction, she wanted Buffy Summers.

Cordelia left Buffy's house and walked towards the coffee shop. She was glad she ran into Buffy when she did. It gave them a chance to talk some more and get to know each other. She walked into Starbucks and ordered two mocha lattes with sprinkles and whip cream for Faith and herself. She paid the cashier and left, she made it back to her apartment in no time at all. Upon opening the door she noticed Faith was already up and had already eating breakfast. It wasn't anything new, but Faith usually wasn't an early riser.

"I was wondering when you were going to come back from your morning jog. I thought I was going to put out and APB on you." She half joked and took her latte from Cordelia.

She sat down on the couch and snagged a piece of her bacon. Which quickly earned her a slap on the hand from Faith.

"If you must know why it took me so long to come back. I ran into a very nice young woman while out on a jog. We made small talk, went and got coffee and we went back to her place for a little chat."

She waited for Faith to digest all of this. As she did she noticed a bunch of different emotions playing on her face. Faith was upset she was wondering how she could do something like that to Buffy. She wasn't going to take this lightly, yes it's been some years since she seen her last. But Buffy has always had a permanent place in her heart, and now that her friend was back in her life, she wasn't going to let anyone mess with her.

"How are you just going to go out on a jog and meet some random woman? What about Buffy? Did she not mean a thing to you? I mean you were panting behind her all night and you seem genuinely smitten with her. I told you Buffy was not the type of person you toy with and you are doing it anyway. What the hell were you thinking?"

She waited for her to answer, but she was pacing back and forth. She didn't see the smile playing on Cordelia's face.

"Faith calm down, it is okay. The woman I met on the jog was indeed Buffy. She was out jogging in Central Park and we bumped into each other. We went and got coffee and then went back to her place to talk."

Faith took all of what she said in, she completely over reacted. Then again this is Buffy she was talking about. There was no such thing as over reacting just under reacting. It's true once you fall for Buffy Summers you stay fallen and that hasn't changed a bit for Faith. But Buffy was Cordelia's now, but she could still be her friend.

"Don't do some shit like that again! I was about ready to lay into you." She gave her a serious look.

"Sorry, I was just having a little bit of fun. Don't get your shorts in a twist; anyways we are having lunch today. She is coming by to pick me up at about twelve. I need to go ahead and get started; I want to look my best when I see her."

She got up from the couch coffee forgotten and headed for her bedroom. She needed to figure out what to wear. Faith just stared behind her hoping that Cordelia doesn't come on too strong. She continued eating her mind and thoughts on a particular blonde.

Buffy was having a major crisis. She didn't know what to wear, she called over Willow and now they are looking through her closet.

"So what exactly are you two going to do today?" She asked curiously

"Oh I am going to take her for a picnic lunch in the park and maybe go to Coney Island or even drive down to the Boardwalk in Jersey." She smiled at her friend.

"Sounds like fun, so you would definitely want to wear jeans, or you can wear this cute little outfit."

Willow held up a white tennis type skirt with a matching halter top that tied around the neck and had no back.

"Uh Willow, not that I don't trust your judgment, but doesn't that send off a come fuck me I'm easy vibe."

Willow eyed it critically. It didn't seem that way to her, personally it looked good to her.

"No, it doesn't. Besides you want to look very nice for her don't you?"

Buffy blushed a little, "Yeah I do. I could wear this." She took it out of Willows hand and quickly put it on. Willow had already chosen the shoes.

"Now put the shoes on, and we can go fix lunch" She turned and left the bedroom and made her way to the kitchen. Buffy immediately followed smelling of Vanilla and spice. It was a smell Willow was all too familiar with.

"Okay let's get to fixing our lunch." She gave Willow a smile.

They went about preparing lunch which consisted of a grilled chicken salad with red wine vinaigrette, some garlic bread, cheesecake, assorted fruits and cheeses and a bottle of wine.

"My god Willow it's just two of us, not an army." She teased.

"Well, I just want to make everything special. I added the blanket and some plates along with silverware and some wine glasses." She gave her a wink.

She looked at the clock and found that it was a five to twelve she needed to go. She gave Willow a hug and a small kiss on the lips.

"I love you Will. You are a life saver, I will see you tonight." She rushed out of the door leaving a stunned Willow behind.

"I Love you too Buffy." She said softly while touching her lips. That was something totally unexpected.

Buffy put everything in the car and headed over to Cordelia's. She didn't know why she was so nervous. She was good at this, but she hadn't fallen this badly for a person since Faith. Clearing her thoughts she made her way to Cordelia's.

Cordelia was pacing back and forth. She was extremely nervous and she didn't know why. Faith was just looking at her like she was crazy.

"Does this look okay?" She asked Faith.

"For the millionth time already you look fine. Don't worry you will knock her dead." She gave her a wicked grin.

She looked over herself again; she was in a Chinese type dress with matching shoes. She looked up at the clock and saw that it was twelve; Buffy would be there any minute. Buffy made it to Cordelia's in record time, she got out the car and gave herself the once over. She walked up to the door and knocked. Waiting for someone to answer the door, to her surprise it was Faith who answered.

"Hey E, come on in." She opened up the door for Buffy to enter, but not before giving her the once over. She was mighty appreciative of what she had on; she came out of her thoughts.

Buffy entered and saw Cordelia entering the room. Her breath caught in her throat at the sight before her. She was gorgeous; little did she know Cordelia was having the same moment. Faith saw this and could tell that this would be a match made in heaven.

"Hey doll face." Buffy greeted her.

"Hey yourself princess." She gave her a smile.

"Are you ready to go?"

"You bet I am." She turned around to Faith and waved. Faith returned it and went into her room. She needed to get away from the cuteness that was the two of them. She found herself wondering if it would have been different if she met Buffy first.

Buffy and Cordelia walked out of the house and got in the car.

"We are going on a picnic then you and I are going down to Atlantic City for the rest of the day." She stated as they got into the car.

"Wow, you planned this out didn't you? Will we make it back in time for you to work?"

She gave her a sly grin, "Yeah we will." She put on her sunglasses and started the car. Today was going to be a day they would each remember.

Buffy and Cordelia made the ride to the park in comfortable silence. They were content with just being in each others presence. Cordelia was thinking about how much being with Buffy made her happy, and Buffy thought about how things were progressing with Cordelia. Never in a million years have someone had this effect on her and this is just the second meeting. Cordelia on the other hand was trying to figure out how to get to Buffy without being to pushy. She came out of her thoughts when Buffy had stopped the car.

"Well, we're her gorgeous. Let's get out." She opened up her car door and waited for Cordelia to do the same. Once they were out of the car, Buffy grabbed the picnic basket and the blanket.

Buffy walked until she reached a secluded and beautiful part of the park. Cordelia was following behind her enjoying the view. When they came to a stop she almost ran into the back of her.

"Wow this is a part of the park I have never seen. It's gorgeous." She said in awe as she took in the lake and the thicket of trees and bushes with the occasional Azaleas, roses and what not.

Buffy took care of setting out the blanket. Once that was done, she took Cordelia's hand and sat her down.

"You really didn't have to do all of this." She said genuinely surprised.

"Well you haven't seen anything else little lady." Buffy went about unpacking the wonderful feast that she and Willow put together. Cordelia helped her dish out the portions of food while Buffy poured the wine.

"Bon Appetite!" Buffy said enthusiastically.

They both ate their food and made small talk. They talked about their parents, Sunnydale, and everything else. It was a non stop talk fest, which each woman enjoyed very much.

"Everything was delicious." Cordelia sat back with a satisfied smile on her face.

"Yes, it was. Willow and I did a good job." She blushed a little.

"So how long have you and Willow been friends?" She asked trying to sound neutral. Not that she saw Willow as a potential threat, but she needed to know where they stood.

"Willow and I go back since high school. She was actually the first person who befriended me. We figured out we have a lot in common and a friendship developed from there. She had an attraction to me, but I told her it would never work. She was too much like a sister to me and I didn't want to ruin anything between us."

Cordelia took all of this in. All the while thanking the heavens above that nothing had happened between them.

"So she was alright with this?"

"At first no, but once she met Tara everything went back to normal. Plus we didn't want to give Xander the satisfaction of his two best friends going at it." She let out a little giggle.

"I would really like to get to know her and the rest of your friends. They sound like a great group of people." She said in all honesty.

"Well, I am having a little get together for Willows birthday next Saturday night at the club. You and your friends are of course invited. And no not everyone who is going to be there is gay, or bi. There will be a straight people also, for all of the straight people there."

"Sounds like it is going to be a blast I'll be there."

"So Ms. Chase tell me a little about your relationship with Faith. I mean you two are awfully close."

Cordelia leaned up against the tree with her legs spread out in front of her. Without thinking Buffy laid her head in her lap like it was the most natural thing in the world. She started running her fingers through her blonde hair.

"Like I told you before, I had a thing for her but she was dating that jerk Angel. So we decided to be friends. She was the one who introduced me to my elusive ex Kate. That's a story for another day. I tried to get with her, but unfortunately she wasn't feeling me like that. So we decided to be friends, she works with me at Vogue also she is the photographer to the models we have. Other than that, there is nothing more to tell."

Buffy was just listening enjoying the sound of her voice and the fact that she was playing with her hair.

"This is okay with you right? I mean with you laying on my lap and playing with your hair?" She asked suddenly self conscious.

Buffy turned her head and looked up at her and smiled.

"No, it feels right somehow. I don't know how to explain it." She sat up for a minute startling Cordelia.

"We need to enjoy this delicious cheese cake while we have it." Buffy reached into the basket and pulled it out along with a knife. She sliced off two pieces and put them on a plate. She handed one to her companion and kept one for herself.

"Oh, this is so good." Exclaimed Cordelia.

Buffy took a bite of hers. "Oh yeah it is. No one makes cheese cake better than Sara Lee." She gave her a small smile. Cordelia took another piece off of hers and held it up for Buffy. She gladly accepted it and blushed a little at the act, but she didn't care she fed some of hers to Cordelia until they ate all of it. Never breaking eye contact Cordelia leaned in for a kiss which Buffy happily returned. Everything else began to fade away until nothing existed except for them. They finally broke apart when oxygen became an issue.

"That was amazing." Buffy said in a haze.

"I second that and say wow." Cordelia said equally dazed.

Buffy stood up and gave a hand to Cordelia to help her up.

"Come on we are going to go for a walk." They linked arms and began to walk around the secluded area.

"I am having a great time with you Buffy. I never knew it could be like this."

They stopped walking and Buffy turned to her.

"I am having a great time also. Not only do I have a great date, but someone I have a lot in common with. I wouldn't change it for the world."

Buffy was looking at her watch when she realized what time it was.

"Come on beautiful, we need to go if we are going to make it to Atlantic City and back." She pulled Cordelia along until they got back to their picnic area. Between the two of them clean up was relatively easy.

"We never did get around to eating the fruits and cheeses." Buffy confessed.

"There is time for that later duchess." She gave her a smile.

They walked back to her car and got in. "Next stop Atlantic City." She gave a little giggle. While in the car they didn't hesitate to hold hands, something that they wanted to do, but was just too afraid to do. The ride to N.J wasn't that long and they made it in do time. Buffy parked her car and they got out, reluctantly letting each others hands go. They made their way to the Boardwalk and began walking hand in hand enjoying the sights and sounds. They even went into a couple of casinos just to gamble a little. They laughed and just enjoyed each others company. When they left the many casinos, they walked to through the many museums and the famous Ripley's Believe it or Not museum. All in all it wasn't a bad time. Further down the walk they saw a little carnival area and decided to go.

"Come on Buffy we are going to ride the Ferris wheel." Buffy was about to protest remembering the last time she rode the Ferris wheel.

"Cordy that's all well and good, but last time I got on one it didn't bode well."

Cordy smirked, "I'm here now I will help calm all your fears." She took hold of her hand and dragged her around. If it was one thing that Buffy was learning, whatever Cordelia wants she gets. They got on the Ferris wheel and to Buffy's surprise it wasn't so bad. Once they got off they played games and won each other a stuffed animal, took pictures, and even shared cotton candy and a funnel cake. Others were watching them in aw. Even though they weren't a traditional couple they looked like they were in love. Once leaving the carnival area they walked down the expansion of the boardwalk to see the other attractions they have. Once that was done, they took a stroll along the beach. Making small talk and just enjoying them selves. Buffy found a bench and they sat down and watched the sunset. It was the most beautiful thing they have seen.

"I've had so much fun today. I don't want it to end." Cordelia said looking at Buffy.

"I know exactly how you feel. But tonight is Saturday and it is the busiest nights of the week." She gave her a smile.

"I know, I may put in an appearance tonight. It depends on what everyone else would want to do." She stated honestly.

"I understand no need to explain. Come on we need to head back if I am to open the club up in time." They got up and began their trek to the car.

The ride back was made in another thing of silence. The only thing that could be heard was the radio. Buffy pulled up to Cordelia's apartment with ease and got out and went to open her door. Neither one aware of the eyes that was watching. She walked her up to the door.

"I had a great time today. I hope to have another one like it." Buffy stated in sincerity.

"I did too, next time I am going to plan what we do. I don't know if it would compare to the day we had today." She blushed.

"Whatever you plan will be wonderful." She returned her smile.

Cordelia leaned in and gave Buffy another kiss, not as long as the first one but equally as great. Buffy wasn't complaining, she had a feeling that someone was watching them, but really didn't care. She was right Faith was indeed looking with a scowl on her face, apparently not too happy. They finally broke apart and Cordelia turned around to get ready to go in.

"If I don't see you tonight. I will give you a call tomorrow angel." She waited for her to respond.

"Until tomorrow." Buffy got into her car and pulled off when, she saw Cordelia go inside.

'Things are finally going okay' she thought to herself. Buffy made it back to her house in record time and put the picnic things away. She checked the messages on her answering machine. There was one from her mother, grandmother, and Spike. She wondered what he was calling for. Ignoring it she took her stuffed cow and the pictures upstairs.

Cordelia entered the apartment with a smile on her face. She was carrying her stuffed dog and the pictures she and Buffy took on the Boardwalk. She didn't even notice Faith sitting there watching TV.

"I see you and Cinderella are back from your day?" She said trying to hide the sarcasm in her voice.

This startled her a little. "Yeah we did, it was the best day ever. We had a picnic in the park; we fed each other cheese cake, had some wine, and drove down to Atlantic City and walked down the Boardwalk and saw the sunset. It wasn't bad" She smiled.

"So are you going to see her tonight at the club?" She wanted to know.

"I don't know it depends on what Harmony wants to do tonight. If you want to go we can, but I just don't want to crowd her." She said honestly.

"I understand that." She gave her a smile all the while a plan forming in her head.

"If you don't want to go then maybe I will. It will give me a chance to catch up with her. You know old times and what not."

Cordelia walked out of the living room and to her room. Not giving Faith a second look. Once she heard the door close, she went to the phone and dialed a familiar number. She waited for it to ring. When a familiar voice answered she decided to speak.

"Hello Kate?"

Faith had just hung up the telephone. Tonight she was going to set some things into motion. There was no way Cordelia could resist Kate after all she was her everything. She decided to drop by Cordelia's room to see if she wanted to go out with her tonight. Knocking on the door she waited for her to answer, when she didn't receive one she walked in. She looked around the room and came across the pictures she and Buffy took at the Boardwalk. 'Cute' she thought. Cordelia came walking in after being in the shower.

"Faith what are you doing in here?" She asked startled.

"Well, I wanted to persuade you to go tonight. It's no fun without you." She said trying to play it to the hilt.

"I may go; I had such a wonderful time with Buffy that I would like to see her again." She tried to hide her grin.

"Great! Harmony won't be coming with us; she had other things to do." She was lying but she didn't have to know that.

"That's fine; now get out of my room so I can get dress. I have to look my best." She walked Faith to her door and closed it behind her.

Faith gave a grin; everything is going the way she planned. And if Kate shows up it will be check and mate. She walked to her room to find something mind blowing to wear. Something that Ms. Elizabeth 'Buffy' Summers can't resist.

She had just got out of the shower when her phone rang. Wondering who it was she picked it up.

"Hello?" She answered breathlessly.

"Hey duchess." Another voice answered on the line.

"Hi Cordelia, what's up?" She tried to suppress a smile.

"I was letting you know that I will be making an appearance tonight. You won't be busy will you?"

"No, I will be completely free. It's Saturday everyone knows to report for duty."

"Great, I will be there with Faith. Harmony won't be in attendance."

"That is good; I will put you both on the VIP list. That way you don't have to wait in line."

"You don't have to do that. It would have been just fine."

"I know, but I want nothing but the best for you." She laughed.

Cordelia couldn't help but laugh either. It was something about Buffy's laugh that amazed her.

"I hate to rush you off princess, but I have to finish getting ready."

"So do I. I just got out of the shower and standing in a towel." Buffy cowed at what she just said.

Cordelia tried her best to keep her mind from wondering.

"I will let you get dressed and I will see you tonight. Until then lady."

"Bye Cordy." She hung up the phone and went to her huge closet to find something sexy to wear.

Once she decided on her outfit, she gave herself a once over in the mirror and walked out of her room. She picked up her keys and walked out of her house, in a better mood than ever. She couldn't help thinking back to the time they spent together today, it was the best time she had ever had. Hopefully she will get a repeat performance. She got into her car and drove to the club. It was ten to ten, she had plenty of time to open and brief her co-workers. At exactly five minutes after she arrived, came her crew. Willow avoided the pleasantries and went right to the questions.

"How was your day? Did you have fun? What else did you do? Did you kiss?" She was rushing out.

Buffy put up a hand to slow her down, "Willow we will have plenty of time to talk about this later. Right now, we have to get everything in order. I need to talk to Gunn about putting Cordelia and Faith on the VIP list." She walked off leaving a confused Willow behind.

Faith and Cordelia arrived at the club at about eleven. Wanting to arrive fashionably late, they got out of the car and went to get in line. Gunn recognized them and rushed them to the front and inside the club. This confused Faith and put a crimp in her plan.

"Queen C why are we going ahead of everyone else?" She asked confused.

"Oh I called Buffy and told her we were coming and Buffy put us on the VIP list." She smiled as they walked through the door. Faith was a little uneasy about this, she wasn't expecting this. Buffy noticed when they walked in and made a bee line towards them, that was until she saw a beautiful leggy blonde approach them. She decided to stay back and watch the scene. She saw shock clearly written all over Cordelia's face and a huge smile on Faith's.

"Kate, what exactly are you doing here?" She asked in complete surprise.

"Well, I got the call from Faith that she wanted to hang. So here I am. If I would have known you would have been here I wouldn't have come."

Faith decided to step in.

"She decided at the last minute. You know how indecisive she could be."

"Oh yeah, I know very well." She said seductively.

Cordelia not feeling comfortable with this started looking around for Buffy. Hoping that she would make an appearance. As if she was reading her thoughts Buffy made her way towards her and Faith. It surprised her to no end. She met her half way.

"Hey Buffy. I was wondering when you were going to show." She gave her a hug.

"Well, I saw you with company and I didn't want to intrude." She said while returning the hug.

"I guess, I should introduce you to her before you find out from someone else." She grabbed her hand and led her to where Faith and Kate were. Kate saw Cordelia approaching and apparently she didn't look to happy at the situation. She plastered on a smile as the twosome approached.

"Kate I would like you to meet Buffy. Buffy this is my ex Kate." She introduced a little awkwardly.

Buffy blanched a little at the word ex, why would she bring her ex to the exact club she was at. Buffy offered her hand.

"It's nice to meet you Kate." She dropped her hand.

Everyone was sitting in complete silence until Faith decided to break the ice.

"So E why don't you and I go catch up. It's been forever since I seen you." She grabbed Buffy by the hand and drug her off.

Kate and Cordelia just sat there in wonderment. Faith had told her that Cordelia was lost without her and wanted her back. But from the looks of it she had moved on just fine. She decided to for go what she and Faith had planned. It was obvious that Cordelia was totally taken with the other blonde.

"So how long have you and Buffy been dating." She asked.

"Oh, I just met her yesterday and we just clicked. It was love at first sight for me; I think it was the same for Buffy. We went out today for a picnic in the park and down to Atlantic City."

Kate took all of this in stone faced. "So you just met and already it's love?" She tried to wrap her mind around it.

"Call it crazy I know, but I call it fate." She was scanning the crowd for Buffy and Faith and spotted them at a table in the corner.

Faith and Buffy were sitting in the corner just catching up with each other. But Buffy's heart wasn't in it. She kept discreetly looking at the table where Kate and Cordelia were sitting. They looked like any other person in the club.

"Faith I have a question for you. Why did Kate show up tonight seriously?" She wanted to know.

"Well, Queen C said she wasn't going to come. I invited Kate I didn't want to come alone."

"How long were they involved?"

Faith decided to play on her insecurities just a little.

"They were together for about three years. They were inseperable, until Cordelia broke her heart by cheating on her with some bitch named Drusilla." She gave a small smile.

Buffy tried to wrap her mind around what Faith had said. She didn't want to believe it besides it was in the past.

"I just asked because things between them looked strained." She glanced over to the table and saw that they were gone.

"It's nothing E they haven't seen each other in a few months." It wasn't a complete lie, but she didn't have to know that.

"So I heard that you dated Angel. Did you not know that he was gay?" She asked wanting to change the subject.

"Yeah I did date him briefly. I didn't know he was gay. Anyways how do you know Angel?"

"If you must know I dated his new partner William 'Spike' Spencer. I knew he was gay, but he had to pose straight in order to get his inheritance from his grandmother Olivia."

Faith couldn't help but laugh at this. She would have never figured out that Buffy would do something so not like her.

"Did you miss me at all when you left?"

"Of course I did Faith. You were a very special part of me, one that no one could touch. We lost contact and that was pretty much it." She gave a shrug of her shoulders.

"I haven't forgotten about you. You were on my mind all the time, I was completely devastated. That was until my mom saw your Aunt Darlene and she told me where you were and how you were doing. I missed you that much."

"It's just that our lives took different turns. We had some good times together, but we just can't go back to the way it was. There is a lot that has changed with us."

"We could be friends though. There is nothing wrong with that. So you and Cordelia, how is that working out?"

"It is going great! I never felt so instantly attracted to a person in my life. It's like when she is around no one else exists. It's just so sudden, everything with her feels so right. I don't know if it's fate or what, but I don't want what we are developing to ever end."

She was off in her own world that she didn't see the forlorn look that crossed Faith's features. Immediately she was having second thoughts about what she was doing. It was obvious that with Buffy the sun rose and set with Cordelia.

Buffy and Faith had continued talking about this or that. Content with talking to each other. They made plans to get together Sunday so Buffy could see Faith's mother. Everything was going great until Buffy noticed something that caught her eye. Out on the dance floor she saw Kate and Cordelia getting their dance on to a very slow song. The expression on her face changed to one of disappointment. Faith seeing this looked at where she was looking and saw for her self. She mumbled 'shit' under her breath.

"Elizabeth, I mean Buffy it's not what it looks like. They are just having a dance nothing more." She tried to placate her. Unfortunately it fell on deaf ears.

"How could she do this? She made it perfectly clear that she was over her. Now I find them dancing." She tried to keep her cool.

Faith tried to reason with her, "If your ex came here and you haven't seen each other in a while you were completely over him. He asked you to dance, would you do it?"

Buffy sighed, "No, I would check with my girlfriend or my date before I dance with him or her. It's common courtesy."

"Well, you and Cordelia aren't a couple yet. So you have to give her that, plus you two are in the developing stages of a relationship. Don't blow it out of proportion, Cordy absolutely adores you. There is no doubt about that."

Buffy thought about what Faith had said. It made sense in a way, maybe she was over reacting. It's just a dance and nothing more. But she couldn't help thinking about the two of them together. Once the song had stopped and a new one started Cordelia and Kate broke apart. Cordelia made a beeline to the table that Buffy and Faith were sitting at. This delighted Buffy to no end. She sat down in a chair close to Buffy and glanced at Faith, she knew that that was her cue to leave.

"Hey B I will talk to you later." She gave them both a smile and left. She spotted Kate and made her way over to her.

"So you look like you were in deep thought, anything you would care to share?" She asked Buffy.

"No nothing in particular. I saw you dancing with Kate, I got a little jealous."

Cordelia took her hand in hers, "Buffy you have nothing to worry about. I was dancing with Kate because she is leaving in two days. So it was the least that I could do; besides you are it for me. I know it's so sudden but I feel that it is right, I will not rush you. We can take it as slow as you want."

This made Buffy swoon not only was she being sincere, but she knew she meant every word of it.

"Slow is good. I don't want to rush into anything yet. I've been hurt in the past, and I don't think my heart could take it. Before you ask Spike didn't break my heart, but this guy I was dating named Sebastian did."

"No pressure from me. Like I said you are it for me, I will wait until forever for you if I have to." She gave her a timid kiss on the lips.

They both broke away when Willow approached the table. She tried to hide her excitement, as well as her jealousy at the two girls.

"Buffy I hate to break up this love fest, but there is an emergency that requires your attention."

"What exactly is it?" She really did not want to be interrupted.

"Well, Lindsey Lohan, and Hilary Duff are arguing in front of the club. Something about Aaron Carter or Chad Michael Murray or something like that." She glared at Cordelia.

She reluctantly let go of Cordelia's hand. She turned to apologize to her and promised that she would be back soon. She watched as Buffy and Willow walked away, wondering what the hell she did to receive such a glare. Faith and Kate made their way back to the table.

"So where is B? I thought you two would be touching each others tonsils." She joked.

Kate just rolled her eyes at this.

"For your info, she had to play mediator between Hilary Duffy and Lindsey Lohan." She rolled her eyes at the teenage antics.

"Wait a minute, celebrities frequent this club?" Kate asked in wonderment.

"Yeah, usually they sit in the VIP areas. Some of them haven't made it in yet, it's still early."

"Who was that red head who approached you two?"

"That is Buffy's best friend Willow. I have a feeling that she isn't too keen on me." This coming from Cordelia.

"Maybe, she is being protective of her friend. That is possible don't you think?" Faith said nonchalantly.

"Faith's right, I mean they have been friends for a long time. She knows more about Buffy than anyone else. Maybe she thinks you are going to break her heart or something."

She received two looks of amazement. "What? I took psychology don't look at me like that." She smiled.

They continued to make small chat about Kate's upcoming trip, and everything else they could think of. But Cordelia tuned all of that out when she saw Buffy in the arms of a very nice looking guy. It was her turn to fume.

"Okay, who the hell is that guy she is hanging on like that?" She asked with venom in her voice.

Faith and Kate rolled their eyes. "I don't know about you, but I need something to drink and a little snack. Do you guys want?" Kate asked as she got up. She did not want to be around when Cordelia got that way.

"I would like a Bloody Mary, and I believe Cordy would like a Screw on the Wall." Faith answered for the both of them.

Kate took their orders and walked off. Cordelia still fuming when she saw Buffy give him a kiss on the cheek.

"Who in the hell is that?!"

Faith decided to have mercy on her and answer. "If you must know, that is Buffy's cousin Wesley. I haven't seen him in like forever. The last time I seen him he was in pull-ups."

She saw her release a non existent breath. Happy that she didn't have any competition when it came to Buffy. She didn't say anything, Faith just sat back and watched. Buffy and Wesley came walking towards them the same time that Kate was coming back to the table with their drinks. Cordelia straightened herself up, she wanted to look confident when she met Buffy's cousin.

"Hey guys, this is my cousin Wesley. Wesley this is Cordelia, and Kate. I know you remember Faith." She gave her a smile.

"It's nice to meet everyone. Especially you Cordelia Buffy was just telling me all about you. Faith it's been too long." He gave her a hug.

"You turned out to be quite the handsome man. If I knew that I wouldn't have tortured you as much as I did." She gave him a smile.

Everyone sat down at the table enjoying the conversation and everything else. Over at the bar Willow was watching in disgust. Even though she was with Tara she still had a thing for Buffy. That will never change, she knew she needed to move on and be happy. She just couldn't hoping that one day Buffy would open her eyes and see what's in front of her. With Cordelia in the picture it was not happening anytime soon. She went back to taking peoples orders all the while longing for Buffy.

Three Months Later

It had been three of the greatest months of Buffy's life, her and Cordelia were still going strong, and she still reigns on the night club scene. Life couldn't have been more perfect not for her anyway. But one thing that plagued her was the deterioration of her friendship with Willow. It's like they are friends but not, and it was getting to her. She had got out of bed and decided to call up Willow for a girl's day out. Cordelia was working, and she found and assistant in Wesley. She picked up the phone and dialed the all too familiar number.

"Hello?" a soft voice answered.

"Hey Willow, it's Buffy what are you doing today?" She asked perkily.

"Nothing really, why what's up?" She tried to keep the excitement out of her voice.

"I was wondering if you would like to have a best friend's day out. Shopping, lunch, and movie whatever you would like to do."

Willow had a huge grin on her face, this could actually be it.

"Sure I would love to. Do you want me to drop by yours or you by mine?"

"I will pick you up at yours in fifteen minutes. We are going to have breakfast first."

"Okay, but I am paying. I wouldn't have it any other way."

"Is Tara going to be okay with this? I mean you didn't have plans or anything." She asked worriedly.

"No we didn't she is out of town visiting family."

"Well, I will see you in fifteen. Bye Willow." She hung up the phone before she could hear her reply.

Willow hung up the phone with a huge smile on her face. Buffy and she were going to spend the day together. That was something that she hasn't done in forever, not really but ever since Buffy met Cordelia it was like she was always preoccupying her time. She decided not to think about Queen C and decided to get dressed.

Buffy was already dressed and ready to go out the door when her cell phone rang. She looked at the caller ID and smiled when she saw who it was.

"Hey baby" She answered with a smile on her face.

"Hey yourself doll face" Cordelia said on the other line.

She continued talking to Cordelia as she left out of the house and got into the car. She was telling her about her day with Willow and after that how she plans on being with Cordelia for the evening. They continued chatting for a good twenty minutes until she pulled up to Willows. They exchanged love you and hung up. Buffy knocked on Willows door and waited for her to answer. It didn't take her long she came out and locked her door.

"Hey Buff, ready to go?" She gave her a smile.

"Sure why not, I am starving." She turned around and walked away. All along Willow watching her back appreciatively.

They got into her car and drove making small talk. Willow was avoiding any mentioning of Cordelia. They drove for a couple of minutes until they reached their destination.

"Buffy don't you ever get tired of IHOP?" She asked with a smile.

"No who could, besides they have this funnel cake to die for. You know I'm a sucker for funnel cake." She laughed thinking back to when she and Cordelia went to the fair and shared a funnel cake taking turns feeding each other and licking each others hands clean.

"Yeah, can't forget that." She smiled.

They walked in and were sat at their usual table and the waitress took their orders and what not. So they chatted while waiting for their food.

"So what exactly are we doing today?"

"I don't know anything. I need to go shopping anyway, it's me and Cordelia's three month anniversary tomorrow and I want to get her something special."

Willow tried to mask her disappointment; obviously this thing with Cordelia is more serious than she thought. It upset her even further, ever since she came into the picture it's like Buffy knows nothing else but her. To Willow it was just an infatuation that will hopefully run its course.

"So what are you thinking about getting her?" She asked tersely.

"I don't know exactly, maybe a bracelet or something. I don't know I just want it to be from the heart." She trailed off.

"I know this is a personal question, but have you two had sex yet?"

Buffy looked at her with wide eyes. In all the years she's known her Willow has never been this blunt.

"No we haven't we've been waiting. I mean we've fooled around, but called it to a halt when it got too serious." She blushed a little.

"I think its good you are waiting. I mean after that number Sebastian did on you its best you wait."

Buffy's expression darkened at the thought of what that bastard did to her. She remembered it like it was yesterday. She and Sebastian were together for about a year, really hot and heavy. She found out he was cheating, but decided to look the other way because she was so in love so she thought. It finally reached a boiling point when he saw her with the school slut Kathryn; she decided to end all with him. One night he got so drunk he came to her apartment and raped her repeatedly. It was something she was never able to forget.

Willow saw her expression and kicked herself mentally for bringing him up. She honestly thought she was able to move on from that.

"I'm sorry Buffy; I didn't mean to bring him up." She apologized.

"That's okay."

The waitress brought out their food and started eating. In between bites of food, they were talking about what to do for the rest of the day.

Cordelia was sitting in her office going over the latest fashion designs for the magazine. Her heart wasn't in it though she was concentrating on Buffy and their upcoming anniversary. She was at a loss of what to get her; she wanted to get her something nice. It has been the best three months of their lives, she's actually glad that they decided to take it slow. Unlike all her other relationships they just rushed into they turned out in disaster. She put down the pictures and picked up the phone she had an important call to make. Once she finished her call she sat back with a smile, she couldn't wait to see the expression on her face tomorrow. Too bad their anniversary wasn't tonight it would have been all the more better, but just being with Buffy made everything worth the entire wait. Coming out of her musings she decided to get back to work.

Buffy and Willow had just finished eating breakfast. Buffy decided that she wanted to get Cordelia's anniversary present out of the way. So first stop was Tiffany's you could never go wrong with that. Willow just rolled her eyes and sulked behind her, she didn't think a three month anniversary should warrant an expensive piece of jewelry. She didn't say anything she just followed behind her. They browsed until she came across the most beautiful piece of jewelry. It was a platinum Heart and Key chain charm bracelet. She asked the lady behind the counter to show it too her, immediately she fell in love with it.

"What do you think Willow, do you think she will like it?" She asked her friend with wide eyes.

Willow seeing the delight in her eyes and couldn't stand to hurt her. She went with her gut instinct instead of her heart.

"I think she will love it. She would be a fool not too." She glanced away not meeting her eyes.

Buffy noticed this and made a mental note to ask her later. She turned back to the sales lady and told her she would take it. The lady offered to put a personalized card in there, she told her what to put, and Willow looked over her shoulder at what was written. It caused her heart to sink some more. It was obvious that Buffy would never give her a chance. Buffy paid the lady and they left the store, noticing her friend's mood she decided that they needed to talk. Finding a Starbucks they went in and sat down after ordering a couple of cappuccinos.

"Okay Willow, you have been sulky girl since we got into Tiffany's. Tell me what's wrong?"

Buffy looked at her intently while waiting for her to answer.

"Buffy I just realized something that I should have realized a long time ago. You will never love me."

She looked at Buffy's confused look and decided to start from the beginning.

"I have always had a crush on you. Since you first stepped foot into St. Mary's and you befriended me. I thought you were the most attractive girl I have ever seen. I immediately fell for you as did Xander and half of the male and female population. But you dated everyone else and never gave me the time of day. I was just content with your friendship if anything. Then we went off to college together I thought the time would come where you would notice me. Unfortunately that didn't happen because you were wrapped up in Sebastian and then when all that stuff went down between you two, I thought you would turn to me. Again you turned to Kendra and not me, that's when I decided to go for Tara. It wasn't the same, it wasn't you. Then the thing with Spike really threw me for a loop, but then it was just a farce. I was still hoping that you would declare your love for me. That didn't happen, then came Queen C and that just put a damper on everything. I didn't expect for you two to hit it off, but I haven't seen you so happy in a long time. I love you Buffy I always have, that will never change. I see how much you love Cordelia and I am willing to be happy for you." She finished up and saw Buffy looking at her intently.

"Willow I am flattered that you feel that way for me. I love you too, but like a sister and nothing more. It wasn't that I didn't find you attractive or anything, but I didn't want things to get weird between us if we did date. I didn't want to loose what we had. I'm sorry that all of my relationships hurt you and probably Xander also, but it wasn't meant to be. I will always love you no matter what that won't ever change, but I want you to be happy for me. I finally found the one and I don't want to loose her." She gave her friend a smile.

They got up and hugged each other cappuccinos forgotten.

"Now come on we need to finish out our day. Plus I want to go to the mall and pick out something sexy for tomorrow. If you are good I'll get you something sexy for Tara." She gave her friend a big smile.

"You know Buffy I like the way you think." They linked arms and walked out of Starbucks leaving shocked patrons behind.

Willow and Buffy had finished up their day out on a relative high note. They shopped had lunch and got their nails done. It was just another wonderful day after Buffy had dropped Willow off at home; she decided to drop by Wesley's place before heading home. She pulled her convertible into his building's parking garage and got out. She made it to his apartment in record time and knocked on his door.

"Hey Buffy to what do I owe this visit?" He opened the door for her to enter.

"Well, I need a really big favor for tonight as well as tomorrow." She sat down on his couch.

"What is it?" He asked as he sat down beside her.

"Do you think you could run the club tonight and tomorrow? It's just that tonight Cordelia and I have plans and tomorrow is out three month anniversary." She looked at him with puppy dog eyes.

"Of course Buffy anything for you. I am actually glad you stopped by, I was wondering if you could help me with something."

"What is it; you know I love helping you. After all you are my favorite male cousin." She hit him on the arm lightly.

"I'm your only male cousin." He replied.

"I would like you to help me get Faith."

"Wesley you have a thing for Faith?"

"What if I do? Is there anything wrong with that?"

"No, I will help you. But I must warn you there are something's about her that you might want to know."

"I know everything, we do talk you know. I just haven't told you, but I want to be more than friends." He sighed.

"Well, you are in luck that my girlfriend is her roommate and I am her friend. We can work something out" She smiled at him

They continued with small talk wanting to catch up on everything. It had been a long time since they did that. Buffy glanced at her cell phone and saw that it was seven; she needed to head home and change.

"Wesley I hate to run out on you like this but"

"I know you have a hot date with Cordelia." He cut her off.

"That is so true, you know what? It's been a while since I've seen your mom why don't we go take a trip to see her."

He smiled, "She would love that. I will call you with the details." He walked her to the door.

He watched as she got on the elevator before he closed his door. It was good to see his cousin in such a good mood. Buffy made it home with enough time to shower and changed. She was on her way out the door when her cell phone rang, it was Cordelia.

"Hey Queen C, I am on my way right now. Yes, everything is okay. I stopped by to talk to Wes and we have a mission. I'll tell you about it when I get there I love you."

She hung up the phone and grabbed her overnight bag and headed out the door. It was truly a happy day. She prayed to the heavens above that nothing would spoil this night or tomorrow. Hopping in her car she drove to Cordelia's in record time. She used the key that she gave her to let herself in. What she saw took her breath away; the living room was a glow with soft light from candles. On the living room floor there was a picnic blanket with an assortment of foods and a platter of fruit. She felt hands wrap around her from behind. She dropped her bag and turned around to face her girlfriend.

"What is all of this? Not that I don't like it, but our anniversary isn't until tomorrow." She questioned.

"I know that silly, but I wanted to do something special tonight to kick off tomorrow. I have you to myself for a whole day and night. We are going to make the most of this. Now I want you to go put your things in the room and go to the bathroom." She gave her a smile.

It was then that she noticed what Cordy had on. It was a red baby doll teddy with matching underwear. This gave Buffy all the incentive that she needed. She went upstairs and did what she was told. She made her way to the bathroom and was surprised again there were vanilla scented candles and roses aligned around the tub and on the counter tops. Cordelia stepped out of no where again surprising her.

"You are going to indulge in a bath. Tonight it's just you and me, no interruptions or anything." She whispered in Buffy's ear as she started unbuttoning her shirt.

"Where is Faith?" She tried to keep her composure.

"She is gone over to Wesley's I gave her the push she needed." She worked her way down to Buffy's shorts and worked to remove them also.

"Did I ever tell you what a wonderful body you have?" She asked after she divested Buffy of her shorts and everything else.

Buffy tensed a little on the inside, this was too close to comfort. She was glad Cordelia didn't recognize this. She had to will herself to relax this was different from her and Sebastian.

"I just want to spend the night enjoying it." She helped Buffy into the scented bubble water careful not to disrupt the bubbles too much or the rose petals on top.

Buffy let out a relaxed sigh and sat back.

"I love you so much Cordelia, you just don't know how much. It's been so long since I was able to open up my heart and soul to anyone." She looked at her with love shining in her eyes.

"I love you too Buffy, I've never met anyone like you before. I actually prayed for someone. They sent me you, I have been happier than ever. I truly love you."

They met half way into a kiss. Finally when breathing became an issue they broke apart.

"Let's get you washed so we could enjoy our wonderful picnic feast." She took the sponge and began to wash Buffy.

An hour a few kisses and intimate touches later they finally made it out of the bathroom. Cordelia still in her lingerie and Buffy in nothing but a robe. Per Cordelia's suggestion. They walked downstairs hand and hand, each breathing a sigh of relief that the house was still standing. She dragged Buffy over to the blanket.

"I wanted to recreate the wonderful day we had on our first date. Sorry there is no boardwalk, but I am willing to make it up to you." She pulled Buffy down and gave her a soft kiss on the lips.

"This is just too much, I like it." She gave her a smile.

Cordelia went about fixing their plates and pouring the wine. Buffy had offered to help but she was immediately shot down. She enjoyed tonight because tomorrow she was going to knock Cordelia's socks off. Little did she know Cordelia had something else in mind? Once everything was in order they dug into their food feeding each other every now and again. Content in what they have with each other. Once the food was gone all that was left was the fruit and cheeses. She raised an eyebrow at Cordelia.

"We didn't get a chance to eat the fruit on our picnic duchess; we are definitely going to enjoy them tonight." She proceeded to feed some to Buffy and vice versa until everything was gone.

"This was wonderful. I didn't expect all of this." She gushed.

"Baby the night has just begun." She leaned in and kissed Buffy again. While doing so she gently pushed her back on the blanket. Their hands moving everywhere, Buffy knew what was going to happen tonight and she didn't have any qualms about it. This was love and nothing more. Buffy tried to take over and was met with resistance.

"No way baby, this is my show." She continued to kiss down her neck which elicited a deep moan from Buffy. She filed that away for future use; one thing about Buffy she liked was that she was very responsive. She untied Buffy's robe and kissed her way down to her pert breasts. She took one in her mouth and began sucking it until it was erect and protruding she did the same with the other one. Buffy was openly moaning and shifting restlessly under her ministrations. Cordelia took that as a good sign and she continued, with a devilish glint in her eyes. One that Buffy has never seen before she reached for the open champagne bottle and poured a little on her stomach. Buffy hissed as the cold liquid hit her stomach and watched as it pooled into her navel. Cordelia licked the trail that it made and licked out the liquid in her navel. Buffy was on her way to an earth shattering climax until she stopped what she was doing. She was about to protest when she felt her finger make her way to her already soaking slit. She moaned at the contact awaiting more.

"I love the way your body responds to me." She said in a husky voice.

"Only for you baby only for you." She said breathlessly as she moved her finger in and out of her slippery cunny. All coherent thoughts flew out of Buffy's mind as her lover pleasured her. Bringing her close to the edge but never taking her over. She was openly trembling now. Cordelia replaced her fingers with her mouth, which caused Buffy a great delight. She was visibly shaking and she knew exactly what her lover needed. Using her tongue she found her clit and began licking and sucking at it until it stood out. A few more licks.

"Cum for me baby, offer me what I want." She said lustfully.

That was all that Buffy needed and she came like she never had before, but Cordelia wouldn't let her come down she added two fingers to her tight heat and quickly brought Buffy to another climax on top of the one she just had. She brought her down from her high and kissed her thighs then kissed her way up her body and sought out her mouth. Tasting herself on Cordelia's lips turned her on some more. She wanted to return the favor and that she did. They spent the whole night worshipping each other until they were sated. They fell asleep wrapped in each others arms where they were meant to be.

Cordelia woke up when the sun rays came through her window. She looked around and wondered how they got to the bed. She reached over to the other side and found it empty. This set off an alarm with her, Buffy wouldn't have left her. A moment of panic set in until she was Buffy walk in with a tray over flowing with food and nothing but one of her t-shirts and bed hair. She never thought she looked any better than what she did now. Buffy walked over to the bed and placed the tray on her lap.

"Good morning Sleeping Beauty." She said as she placed a small kiss on her nose and then sat down.

"Good morning love, happy anniversary."

"The same to you, now eat up we have a busy day today." She said holding a fork up to her lover's mouth.

"What did I do to deserve such a bountiful breakfast feast and what about you?" She asked between bites of food.

"Well lover it is our anniversary and I wanted to do breakfast in bed. As for me eating, some of this is for me also. So you have to share." She mock pouted.

"Oh I'll share all right." She put a fresh strawberry to Buffy's mouth and she took a bite. A little juice slipped out of her mouth and Cordelia took her finger to wipe it up and sucked the digit into her mouth. Causing Buffy to sigh as she remembered all the things her talented hands did to her body.

They continued feeding each other until everything was gone. Cordelia got out of the bed and took the tray to the kitchen. Buffy sat back in the bed and watched her walk away, sending a prayer of thanks to whoever was listening. She came back and slid in next to Buffy.

"I really don't want to get out of this bed right now. If I had my way I would keep you here until tonight." Buffy turned around to face her.

"Sorry baby, but we have plans for the day. Besides it's a beautiful day and I would hate to waste it." She gave her a small smile.

She leaned in and gave her a kiss which her lover equally returned. Buffy's hands went around Cordelia's back and brought her closer until there was no space between them. It was passionate and hot hands roaming all over the place Buffy was quickly becoming turned on, but decided to call it to a halt.

"As much as I love making love to you this morning. We need to get up I have plans for us today."

It was Cordelia's turn to pout.

"Spoil my fun, but okay. Do you want to shower first or me?"

"Buffy went over to the closet where she hung her clothes and picked out something comfortable but nice to wear.

"It doesn't matter. You can go first I take eternity in the bathroom." She smiled.

"Well, so do I sweetie. How about we take a shower together? You can wash my back and I could wash yours." She wriggled her eyebrows seductively.

"We could do that too, just shower of course." She left the room and went to the bathroom, but she wasn't alone Cordelia was right behind her every step of the way.

Upon entering the bathroom Buffy set the water temperature and dropped her robe and got in of course without the once over from Cordelia. When she disrobed she gave her a once over too. She could never get enough of her body. Cordelia slipped into the shower behind her. She decided to wash Buffy first as reciprocation for the breakfast. Lathering up the sponge she moved it along Buffy's body sensually as if she was mapping it our for memory purposes. She could tell Buffy was enjoying this and she continued what she was doing. Moving her way down her legs and in between her thighs she nudged her to spread her legs further. Buffy complied and leaned back against Cordelia as she moved her way up to her sex. Buffy let out a moan and Cordelia smiled she knew that she was enjoying this and kept moving until she found her already erect clit and began rubbing it in small shallow strokes. Buffy was so caught up with a haze of desire she didn't notice when she felt a finger enter her. When she noticed it she was too far gone and climaxed on contact. This brought Cordelia a wave of satisfaction that she was the one who caused it. She gently brought her down from her high slowly just savoring the moment. Buffy had to regain her composure.

"You were amazing again. Now it's your turn for me to wash you." She moved against the shower wall to scoot behind Cordelia.

Cordelia moved up, it was kind of weird because she was taller than Buffy, but it didn't matter she loved her just the same. Buffy took the sponge that fell to the floor and put some more body wash on it. This time she used Cucumber Melon she loved that smell on her. She washed her back first and then made her way around to her breasts. She tweaked both of her nipples causing her to moan in pleasure. It gave her a happy to realize that she could make her do that. She moved sensually down her stomach and onto her legs she was taking a page out of Cordelia's book. She made her way up to her thighs and nudged them open with her leg; she complied enjoying what her lover was doing. Buffy made her way to Cordelia's aching sex and moved her hand and circled her clit causing her to gasp.

"Buffy what are you doing?" She half moaned.

"Turn about is fair play lover." She continued what she was doing.

Buffy was using small, but gentle strokes causing Cordelia to wriggle against her. She decided to have mercy on her and slid in two digits and started moving them in and out in slow motion. She didn't want this to end too soon, but Cordelia had other things in mind. She started thrusting herself against her lovers questing fingers, Buffy taking this cue sped up her motions until she heard Cordelia say her name and was welcomed with an outpouring of her juices. Buffy was grinning like the canary that ate the cream.

The moment was ruined when the hot water gave out and was replaced with cold. They both screamed and tried to get out but they landed in a heap of limbs on the floor.

"Okay we need to get out of here." Buffy said trying to stifle a giggle.

They helped each other up and dried one another off and headed to back to their room. They got dressed without going at each other like a couple of teens who couldn't control their hormones. Once they dressed and gave each other the once over they decided to leave the room. Buffy grabbed her purse off of the couch and put her phone and vibrate. Luckily there were no calls she missed. She waited for Cordelia to make her presence known. When she did they left and took Cordelia's car this time since she was doing her surprise first.

"So what exactly are we doing today?" She inquired.

"What part of it's a surprise don't you understand. Just sit back and enjoy the ride princess."

The ride was made with constant chatter and sometimes comfortable silence. They stopped at little gift shops and bought little knick knacks and took pictures along the way. Buffy had dozed off and Cordelia couldn't help but look at her and than the heavens for sending her this angel. She had been agonizing lately about their relationship it wasn't anything of the bad. She just hoped that they would work out as in happily ever after. These three months have been the best she's ever had. Even though there was the occasional person trying to sabotage or cause trouble in their courtship they always found the way back to each other. If that isn't love then she didn't know what was. Cordelia got happy when she saw the sign that said welcome to Niagara. Oh yes, this was something that Buffy would not forget. She drove until she found the Maid of the Mist parking lot. Buffy sensed the car had stopped and woke up.

"Where are we?" She asked as she opened her eyes.

"We are at Niagara Falls we are going on the Maid of the Mist boat ride. You told me that you have never been here before. So we are going to spend the day here, well not the whole day, but you know what I mean."

She got out the car and went over to Buffy's side and opened up the door. She held out her hand and Buffy took it closing the door behind her. They made their way towards the building entrance and stood in line until it was their time to get their tickets. Once they got their tickets they picked up their ponchos and boarded the boat. Buffy looked in awe as she saw the fall up close.

"If you think this is pretty wait until you see it up close and personal." She whispered in her ear.

"I can't wait."

Once everyone was aboard the captain or whoever came on and told them the rules and etc. Of course the two lovers weren't paying attention they were too wrapped up in each other. The boat left dock and preceded toward the falls, Buff thought that it was the most beautiful thing in the world. They took pictures to document their day together. Once they got almost underneath the falls Cordelia took this time to give Buffy her gift.

"Buffy, I know that this is a little early to give gifts, but I couldn't wait to give you mine." She rushed out.

"But I couldn't wait until tonight like we agreed upon." She took out a small box and handed it to her.

Buffy took the small intricate box into her hands and opened it with trepidation. What she saw in there made her gasp.

"Oh my god this is beautiful." Cordelia took the ring out of the box.

"This is a Claddagh Ring. It's given as a sign of devotion. The hands represent friendship, the crown stands for loyalty, and the heart stands for love. You wear with the heart pointing towards you it means you belong to someone. Like this."

She held up her hand and showed Buffy. Buffy looked at her tears welling up in her eyes as Cordelia slid it on her finger.

"Now you belong to me and I belong to you." They sealed it with a kiss. They received applause and well wishes.

"I love you so much. I can't wait to give you your gift later tonight." Buffy stated tearily.

"I can wait." They gave each other a chaste kiss.

Thirty minutes later the ride ended and everyone filed off of the ship. They left to go get some lunch and do a little exploring enjoying the time they had together. Buffy looked at her watch and saw that it was three thirty. They had to head back if they were going to make it to their destination in time. Cordelia complied and they left, the ride back was made in silence each one lost in their own private thoughts. Of course they were of the good. They made it back to Cordelia's house with no problems and immediately changed cars. This time they took Buffy's and she drove them to a private plane hangar.

"Uh Buffy, why are we at a hangar?" She asked out of curiosity.

"You'll see come on."

She got out of the car and went over to Cordelia's side and opened the door for her. Cordy took her hand and closed the door behind her, reminding her of what she did to Buffy. They entered the hangar and what Cordelia saw made her gasp it was a plane that said, 'Summers Enterprises'.

"You have your own airplane?"

She asked as the pilot stepped off and greeted them

"Hello Ms.Buffy" He gave her a hug which she returned.

"John this is my girlfriend Cordelia. Cordelia this is our private pilot John" He held out a hand for her to shake.

He helped both of them into the seating area and told them to buckle up.

"Buffy where exactly are we going?" Her curiosity getting the best of her.

"It's a surprise and I'm sure you'll love it. Just sit back and enjoy." She gave her a smile.

Cordelia watched out the window as they flew high above the clouds. Once they were in the air they had removed their seatbelts and she moved closer to Buffy. Buffy took her hand in hers and was rubbing her thumb back and forth. Then she got bold, she never joined the mile high club, but tonight she wanted to.

"Have you joined the Mile High club yet?" She gave her a mischievous smile.

"No why? What do you have in mind?" Cordelia asked seductively.

"There is no time like the present." She moved closer to her prey and began kissing her neck and running her hands along her breasts.

"You are insatiable Summers." She said playfully.

Buffy pulled back and pouted a little. Cordelia thought that was so cute.

"Do you want me to stop? I mean I could." She tried to suppress a smile.

"I said you were insatiable, I didn't say stop." She leaned in to kiss her again this time there was no interruptions.

Buffy slid down on her knees between Cordelia's legs and lifted up her skirt and divested her of her underwear.

"Buffy what are you doing?" She asked in shock.

"We are about to join the club. So sit back relax and enjoy." She continued what she was doing.

She worked her way up Cordelia's legs kissing and nibbling and even massaging. She couldn't do anything but moan never in a million years did she want Buffy to stop. Buffy made her way up to her aching sex and decided to have mercy on her lover. She took her hands and spread her lips opened and licked up and down her slit. She wasn't disappointed when Cordelia's juices started to flow. Evidently she was doing something right. She continued to feast until she started thrusting her hips into her face. Buffy's hands came up to still her motions. She flattened out her tongue and continued her assault on her. Following her lovers moans of more and don't stop. She took her tongue and started stabbing it in and out of her lover. Extracting some of the dirtiest things she had ever heard. This was making Buffy ache with need, but she could wait this was for Cordy. She inserted three fingers while she was still sucking at her clit. She curled up her fingers to hit that spot that would send Cordelia screaming. Once she found it she continued hitting it causing her to moan louder begging Buffy to let her come. Finally having mercy on her she sucked on her clit and was rewarded with a piercing scream of her name and a fountain of Cordelia's love which she lapped up greatly until there was no more.

She kissed both of her thighs and found her underwear and slipped them back on. She sat up straightening herself up. But Cordelia had other plans for her she got up and trapped Buffy on the couch. She tried to move but couldn't she had her pinned good.

"Now Ms. Summers we will have none of that. What is it that you said today? Turnabout is fair play." She leaned down and attacked her mouth conveying all the love she had for her into that one kiss.

She finally let go of Buffy's arms and began kissing down her neck and into her top that showed cleavage but not too much. She slid her hands underneath her top to remove it but was interrupted when the pilot came over the intercom telling them to buckle up. They straightened their clothes to rights and sat down and buckled up. The plane came in for a smooth landing which they both enjoyed.

"This isn't over duchess; I will get my time to play."

They waited patiently as the door was opened. They stepped off of the plane and went to the waiting limo. The chauffer greeted them both and they got in. Buffy pulled out the champagne and two glasses and poured each one of them one. She handed it to her.

"To us, may we have many more months and years together." She lifted up her glass and took a sip.

"Buffy not to sound ungrateful or anything, but what was up with the airplane and now this limo."

She smiled a little brighter.

"Well, daddy is a successful entrepreneur and I asked it I could use the plane."

"So who are you exactly are you like and heiress or something?" She asked.

"I won't use heiress per say, let's just say I am worth billions. I'm not the type to flaunt my wealth like a lot of other people." She said honestly.

"I like the way you think. I pretty much have that philosophy also." She smiled back.

The ride was spent in relative silence until it came to a stop. The chauffer opened up the door and helped them out. Cordelia looked around as she noticed that they were on the water front. Then she saw a cruise boat in front of them.

"Buffy we're not in New York anymore are we?"

She grinned, "Nope we are in Norfolk, Virginia. We are taking a cruise on the Spirit of Norfolk."

She led her to the boarding area and followed her on. Buffy showed them to where they were going to be seated. On board they had a seafood buffet a dance floor and everything else. They took a tour of the rest of the boat, there were three levels they made it up to the top and from up there they watched the sun set. They went back down to their level and went for the dinner buffet. They feasted on lobster, shrimp, crab legs and everything else. The band played a slow tune and they got up and danced. Once they danced for about an hour. Buffy dragged her off of the dance floor and headed up to the top deck. There they were met with a fire works display to end all displays. Buffy decided to give Cordy her gift.

She faced her and took a deep breath. This is the hardest thing she has ever had to do and she was nervous. She pulled out the blue box.

"Cordelia these last few months have been amazing. I have never met anyone like you before. I thank God everyday that I found you when I did. Without you my life wouldn't be as complete as it is now."

She handed her the box and watched her open it. She had a look of aw on her face; it was the most beautiful bracelet she had ever seen. Pure platinum with a heart charm and a key with a diamond in the center.

"Oh my god Buffy, this is the most beautiful piece of jewelry I have ever received." She rushed and kissed her.

"It may not have a lot of meaning like the rings does, but I consider this my heart and you have the key to unlock it."

She reached out for it to place her arm. They kissed again and watched the rest of the fireworks display in each others arms. Once it was finish and the ship pulled back into the dock. They got off and picked up the picture that they took before boarding. They walked hand in hand not caring about the looks they were receiving. Walking arm and arm they made it back to the awaiting limo and got in. What Cordelia thought was the end of the night she was wrong. The limo pulled up to the Hilton Hotel and they got out and went into the lobby. Buffy had told her to wait while she went up to the conceirge and got a hotel key.

She walked back and led her lover to the elevator and they got on.

"Buffy tonight has been wonderful. I don't know what to say." For once she was actually speechless.

"This day has been wonderful and I'm glad we have each other may we spend an eternity together."

The elevator stopped on the fourth floor and Buffy led them to their room and let them in. No time was wasted on pleasantries or what the room had to offer. They tore at each other's clothes until they were both naked and on the bed. Neither one said another word as they tenderly made love until they were exhausted and fell into a dreamless sleep surrounded by each other.

Buffy was the first one to wake up, she glanced at Cordelia and then at the clock. She didn't realize that it was so late giving her lover a kiss on the cheek she got up and went to the bathroom. Once she finished up in there she climbed back in the bed and wrapped her arms around the woman she loved and drifted back to sleep.

Cordelia woke up as the suns rays were coming through the hotel window. It was too early for her liking. Her mind drifted back to the previous evening, it was out of this world. They made love over the course of the night and boy was she sore, in a good way of course. She would have never figured out that her Buffy was a passionate lover; it still sent chills down her spine. Not wanting to disturb Buffy she managed to slip out of the bed to go shower. Buffy woke up to the sound of the shower running a smile graced her features, she was in love. Taking advantage of Cordy's shower she decided to call room service and have them bring up some breakfast. She hung up the phone when the shower stopped and the door opened. Out walked Cordelia in nothing but a towel, Buffy had to control the drool that was forming.

"Good morning lover. When did you wake up?"

Cordy asked as she made her way to Buffy, wanting to give her a kiss. Buffy turned her head away and Cordy mocked pouted.

"You don't want my kisses? I'm hurt."

"It's not that I don't want your kisses princess, but I have morning breath and I doubt you would want to kiss me."

She smiled at the use of the nickname she uses for Buffy.

"Honey I kissed you after you went down on me and vice versa. A little morning breath doesn't hurt anything."

She said cheekily. This earned a pillow to the face from Buffy. Cordelia ducked and threw another pillow at her causing an all out pillow fight. It was going full swing until there was a knock at the door. Buffy got up and answered the door; it was the room service guy. He surveyed the array of the room and the girls to him it looked like a slumber party. Little did he know it was something else entirely, he left after Buffy tipped him. Cordelia looked at her in surprise.

"What's all this?" She asked curiously

"Well, we would like to call it breakfast."

She gave her a smile and lifted the silver domes off of the plates. There were waffles, pancakes, sausages, bacon, fresh fruit, orange juice, and eggs. It was a veritable cornucopia of goodness. Both girls feeling the hunger dug in sometimes feeding each other or individually. They chatted about this and that what they were going to do with their day etc. just enjoying themselves. Once everything was gone Buffy got up to go take a shower. While in there Cordy's cell phone rung, it hadn't rung all night. Wondering who it was she picked it up. The voice on the other end surprised her.

"Hey babe" The southern drawl came through the phone.

"Oh my goodness Lindsey long time no hear from!"

She smiled into the phone. Cordy was talking full speed she didn't notice that Buffy was there.

"Yeah, we should get together after I come home."

She enthusiastically agreed. Buffy dried off and put on her clothes from yesterday trying her best to ignore the one sided conversation.

"I should be arriving soon enough. No I don't have anything else planned for today."

Buffy frowned considerably at this. They had plans to go horse back riding; she shrugged it off and continued getting dressed. She tried to tune out the conversation until something Cordelia said perked up her ears.

"No there is no one really special. You always hold my heart."

Buffy cleared her throat to let her presence known; Cordelia looked at her and patted the bed beside her. Not wanting to alarm her she sat down she started absentmindedly running her hands through Buffy's hair, like it was the most natural thing in the world. This confused Buffy considerably she just listened to Cordy's voice.

"Let's meet at Justin's, the food there is to die for. I have to talk to you about something anyway. Listen I gotta go.... yeah I love you too. Bye"

Cordelia hung up the phone and looked at Buffy. She had an unreadable expression on her face. She kissed her on the nose and got up, she needed to get dressed.

"Sorry about that, I had to take that call." She said apologetically.

Buffy tried to smile, but it didn't reach her eyes.

"Yeah I understand how that is. We should really get going I have a long day ahead of me."

"About that, I am going to have to cancel our plans to go horseback riding. It's just that a special friend of mine is in town."

She finished getting dressed leaving Buffy in a tizzy. Buffy actually thought she meant something to the other girl. They exchange jewelry and everything, now Cordelia is behaving like it was nothing. Buffy thought she could be jumping the gun a little, she wouldn't do that.

"That's okay, I wanted to catch up on some errands anyway. Maybe some other time I guess. I want you and your friend to have fun."

Once Cordelia was ready, Buffy gave the room a once over to make sure that they didn't leave anything. Realizing that they didn't she closed the door behind them. Buffy hadn't said a word since they left the hotel, this had Cordelia concerned. Usually she and Buffy had lots to talk about, she just chalked it up to her being tired. The limo met them at the front of the hotel and they both got in.

"I had a wonderful time these past few days. I wish it didn't have to come to an end."

Cordelia said wistfully.

"I enjoyed them too."

Buffy said a little over excitedly.

"Next week end I would like to take you for an excursion."

This surprised Buffy a little.

"What about work? I mean you just can't take off you're like the Chief Fashion Editor or whatever."

Cordelia gave her a devilish smile. One reserved for when she has a secret or whatever.

"Buffy I can do anything I want Vogue is backed by Chase and Company. I am the sixth wealthiest person in the world. After you of course."

Buffy couldn't believe her ears. Cordelia was worth just as much as she was, and more. She wondered why she never mentioned any of this before.

"You are just choosing now to tell me this. I thought we were being honest with each other in the beginning. Why are you telling me this now?"

They didn't notice that the limo had come to a stop.

"I wanted to wait for the right time. I wanted us to get to know each other better, besides you didn't tell me off hand that you were royalty yourself princess. I found out on this little excursion that we had. So don't cast stones at me."

The chauffer came and opened the door for them to exit and board the plane. Neither girl said anything while in the air. They were both to stubborn to admit that they were wrong for hiding things from each other. Cordelia was lost in the thoughts of what happened the night before on this very plane. Buffy's mind was else where at the moment she was trying to wrap her mind around everything that had happened. Willow was right after all.

Buffy entered her apartment in a not so stellar mood. She and Cordelia had argued non stop on the plane ride home and practically ignored each other in the car. She was left wondering how did everything go so wrong so fast. Not bothering to check her messages she went upstairs to her room and collapsed on the bed. Looking at the clock she decided to call Willow. Maybe her friend could cheer her up. She pressed the number on her speed dial and waited for the phone to ring. It rang twice before Willow answered.

"Hello?"

"Hey Wills it's Buffy." She said trying to sound peppy.

"Hey Buffy, how was your excursion with Cordelia go? I want all of the details."

"There really isn't much to tell she had a picnic waiting for me when I went over to her house. I will not give out all of the details but you get the picture. I fixed her breakfast in bed, we went to Niagara Falls and the lot. She gave me a ring."

She was about to continue until Willow interrupted her.

"Gave you a ring! What kind of ring?!" She asked trying to hold her jealousy in check.

"She gave me a ring a Claddagh to be exact. It's very pretty it has a diamond where the heart should be." She looked at the ring longingly.

Willow tried to hide her contempt at the situation. Cordelia succeeded Buffy would never look at her like that. Even though she is completely on board with the whole Buffy Cordelia thing, a part of her was still holding on. It was hard for her to let go.

"Did you say a Claddagh ring?"

"Uh yeah I did why? What's the big deal?" She asked getting bored with this topic.

"Buffy a Claddagh ring is an Irish Wedding band. Is it on your left hand or your right hand?"

She asked trying to figure out if it was something serious or not.

"An Irish Wedding band Will come on. Why does it matter what hand it's on?!" She asked curiously.

"Because it means certain things depending on the finger. Now which finger is it on?" She questioned.

Buffy looked down at her hand and saw that it was indeed on her left hand on her ring finger. Buffy gasped in shock. This was heard by Willow.

"Buffy what hand is it on?" She asked again.

"It's on my left hand with the heart pointing in."

Willow let out a dejected sigh. Her chances with Buffy were now officially over. Now the hard part came telling her what it means.

"Buffy you and Cordelia are in a deeply committed relationship. Didyoutwohavesexatall lastnight?"

Buffy had to slow down and decipher Willow speak. She knew that Willow was over there blushing. She thought about the night before and a smile came to her face.

"Yeah we did several times why?"

"If you were still in Ireland or whatever you two would be married."

"Holy crap you have got to be kidding me! Thank god we are not in Ireland that is a really huge commitment. Then again if the ring isn't native to here I wonder how she got one?"

"That's between you and her. Anyways did she like your gift?"

"Yeah she did, but that is not why I called. I wanted to tell you that you were right about her being the original heartbreaker."

She said trying to hold back her tears. Willow could here this and decided to offer her ear to listen. Right now is not the time for I told you so.

"What happened?"

"I got up to go shower this morning and I found her on the phone with someone named Lindsey. She referred to me as no one special then she blew off our plans for today to hang out with this person. She told them that she loved them. Then I found out that said girlfriend is worth about as much as I am if not more. We argued non stop and we ignored each other in the car. Willow what am I going to do?"

Buffy was outwardly crying now and Willow was at a loss for words. She only seen her friend this way once and that was when Sebastian broke her heart.

"Buffy I will be over there as soon as I can. Don't go anywhere I mean it! I will be there in five minutes."

She heard Buffy sob her agreement and hung up the phone. She grabbed her purse and her keys and hauled ass out the door. On the drive over all she could do was curse Cordelia for her foolishness. Parking her car she made her way up to Buffy's door and was met with a puffy mess of her friend. Immediately she enveloped her friend in a hug and walked her to the couch.

**Cordelia and Faith's Town home**

Cordelia stepped into the house dejectedly. Today did not go the way she hoped, Buffy was very unreasonable and she didn't understand why. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts she didn't notice Faith sitting on the couch.

"Well if it isn't Cinderella. I wasn't expecting you home until at least this evening." Faith smirked.

Cordelia flopped down on the chaise and sighed.

"Well, unfortunately there was a change of plans. Then there was the simple fact that Buffy and myself were arguing from the time we left to the time we got home. It was not pretty."

Faith perked up at this bit of information. There was trouble in paradise already something was not right.

"What exactly happened? Did you not give her the ring?" She asked in concern.

"I gave her the ring alright, but I don't think she knew exactly what it stood for except for what I told her. I hope she doesn't hate me for it. As far as what happened I got a phone call from Lindsey this morning and then I told her that the magazine I work for is backed by my grandfather. She totally flipped her-"

"Lindsey called you?!" She was cut off by Faith.

"Rude much!? Yes she called me big deal. I mean Buffy wasn't exactly forth coming about who she really was."

Faith was still reeling off of the whole Lindsey thing.

"You mean your ex fiancee gave you a call? Where was Buffy?"

Wesley had been in the kitchen when he heard most of this conversation. He was upset that she would do something so underhanded to his cousin. He decided to make his presence known. Walking into the living room he kissed Faith on the lips and sat down next to her.

"Wesley I didn't know you were here."

Cordelia said in shock. If he was here the whole entire time he heard everything.

"Yes we didn't expect you back so early." He said snidely.

"Like I was saying Buffy was in the shower but she came out. I tried to get off of the phone with her, but it wasn't working. Once I did manage to get her off of the phone I told her I loved her too and that was that."

"How was she acting? I mean was it anything out of the ordinary?"

Wesley asked his anger aside he was concerned about his cousin.

"No she was her regular self except when I told her the truth. We started arguing."

Faith was seething not for the fact that she lied to Buffy about who she really was. Buffy lied about that also. But the simple fact was the whole Lindsey debacle. Wesley just took this in stone faced.

"C what the fuck was you thinking!? I told you time and time again to not jerk her around. When Buffy falls in love she falls hard. Were you not listening to me? She is a very loving, and very caring person who wears her heart on her sleeve for everyone to see. And you being a bitch told your ex that you loved her, and let me guess you broke your plans off with her to spend time with said ex. She loves you the sun rose and set with you. You gave her that ring and I guarantee she gave you that bracelet you are wearing on your wrist."

Wesley tried to calm Faith down, but it wasn't working.

"Do you think that I intended for this to happen. Lindsey is in New York for one day and wanted to see me, what's the harm in that? Buffy said she was fine with and told me to go ahead and go. She doesn't know that Lindsey is my ex fiancée I never clarified that with her. Don't give me this high and mighty routine I know for a fact that it was you who told Kate to meet us at the club that night. You were trying to separate Buffy and me so you could have a go at her."

Faith sat back like she was slapped Cordelia knew all along and didn't say anything. Wesley decided to intervene and put his two cents worth in. He was tired of all of this arguing.

"Faith be quiet! Cordelia sit down and be quiet! I am going to talk now and you are going to listen."

Cordelia did what she was told and sat down.

"You may think that Buffy was unaffected by this turn of events but she is. Buffy was in a particularly bad relationship with this guy named Sebastian. I won't get into that she will tell you on her own. He cheated on her and she took it pretty badly, I'll put it this way she was on a plane to England. I love my cousin very much and what you did was underhanded. That bracelet she gave you cost a pretty penny she wouldn't spend that much on a fling. You need to find out what is most important to you. Your meeting with your ex or the girlfriend you have now. The choice is yours lets just hope you make the right one."

Wesley and Faith got up to leave Cordelia alone to her thoughts. She sat there looking up at the ceiling and then her bracelet.

"This is my heart" She said pointing at it.

"This is the key. You hold that key to unlock my heart."

She came out of her thought and grabbed her keys and headed out the door hoping it wasn't too late.

Willow was still trying to comfort Buffy. She had already stopped crying now she was moping and everything she was doing wasn't cheering her up.

"You know Buffy you need to go away for a little while, to clear your head." She suggested.

"I don't want to go away it doesn't solve anything." She said quietly.

"I know it doesn't but it will make you feel better. Then again you could give Cordelia the benefit of the doubt. It could have been a friend or something."

"I don't think so Will, you're my best friend and you don't hear me telling you I love you whenever we hang up."

That was true. It hurt to admit it but Buffy was right. She came up with an idea.

"Buffy why don't we go running it always clears your head. It's beautiful out and the weather is perfect. Besides you don't want all that tension when you go to work tonight. There might be hotties there both male and female." She offered her friend a small smile.

"Running might be a good thing but I would rather go at it alone."

Willow knew that it was a bad idea for Buffy to do something while she was visibly upset. But she couldn't argue with her once she makes her mind up there's no changing it.

"If you think it's for the best. Buffy don't get down on yourself you are one hell of a woman. If Cordelia can't see that then you don't need her."

She got up and gave her friend a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"I don't know what I would do without you Will."

She walked her to the door and closed it behind her. Deciding a run would be good she went upstairs to change clothes.

Cordelia tried calling Buffy at home but there was no answer. She tried her cell phone but got no answer. She turned down Buffy's street and saw that the car was there. Pulling up behind her car she got out and ran up to the door. She rang the doorbell twice and didn't get no answer she decided to go elsewhere. While driving she saw Willow walking into Starbuck's with an unknown blonde girl. Making a U-turn she parked in front of the famous coffee shop.

"Willow!" She called out.

Willow turned around to see who called her, when she saw who it was she kept walking.

"Who is that?" Asked Tara.

"That would be Cordelia." She said non too nicely.

"Maybe you should talk to her. There are after all two sides to every story. You got Buffy's now you need hers."

Willow knew Tara was right. She turned around and was face to face with Cordelia.

"Cordelia" She said curtly.

"Willow I have been trying to reach Buffy non stop but got no answer. Is she all right? Where is she?" She asked panicked.

"I just left there and she said that she was going running. It's something that she does when she needs to clear her head. She spent forever crying over how much you hurt her. I've never seen her cry this much since Se-."

She was cut off when Tara pinched her hip.

"Sorry about that. How rude of me, Tara this is Cordelia. Cordelia this is my girlfriend Tara."

Both girls exchanged minor hellos.

"I really don't care about that right now. I need to find Buffy and set things right with her."

"Why should she listen to anything you have to say? You gave her that ring and then you turn around and did what you did. Buffy loved you very much and still loves you for what reason I don't know. Personally I think she could do a whole lot better than you. You're a bitch and I hope to whoever is listening she doesn't forgive you."

"I don't know what crawled up your ass, but no one talks to me that way. I love Buffy more than life its self and I would do anything to make things right with her again. It was a stupid mistake that I will spend forever trying to make it up to her. Now where the hell did she go running to?"

Everyone in the shop turned and looked at the three women. They all looked equally embarassed. Tara took the time to tell her where Buffy was running. Cordelia left leaving a fuming Willow behind.

She made it to the park with no time to spare, but she saw Buffy running across the street to get a hot dog.

"Buffy!"

Cordelia yelled. Buffy turned around to a familiar voice calling her. She turned around and looked. Before she could turn and run a car came out of no where and hit her sending her flying in the air. Everything for Cordelia moved in slow motion she ran like the devil was at her heels. When she finally got to Buffy's side she cradled her into her arms like a child.

"Buffy please say something." She pleaded with tears coming down her face.

"I love you." Her eyes closed and her body went limp.
